>make world with virtually no stakes >haha its gud cauz protag can lose hehe One Pissers, everybody.
Blake Anderson
hachi is complete bullshit introduced solely for luffy to be able to beat logia types
Logan Martin
Does anyone get put off by shounen protagonists """""losing"""""" with no consequences?????? Like they lose and are maybe injured or bed ridden for a week or so and then they're fine. It feels like I don't really need to worry about the fights because they always either win or half win.
Hunter Price
Naruto got humbled all the fucking time. No clue if you're retarded or merely pretending, but this isn't some unique quality. >Also we see far off antagonist that won';t be defeated anytime soon early on in the series, almost no other shonen does that. What's this mongrel talking about?
Noah Martinez
Pre-timeskip is about 3 months; Luffy goes from raft to Marineford in no time. A prodigy by any standard.
What shonen protagonist never has his ass beat? Dark fucking Schneider?
Daniel Fisher
Granted, he does train for ten years before voyaging. Shanks gave him spiritual lessons and he grew up with Ace and Sabo. You would expect him to be as successful as he is, but it's done in a way that doesn't take anything from Luffy as a person. Roger didn't sail til he was 25; Luffy's 19 now. One Piece is good at showing strength is less about achievement and more about where you are internally.
Grayson Allen
HOLY BASED
Andrew Bailey
True. Luffy isnt and honestly i think wont be a yonko-tier fighter ever but hes such a charismatic leader that fucking everybody will be helping him in the end. Its unbelievable sometimes how hes able to read peoples feelings and be so based.
It's not wrong to be desu. Having incredibly high stakes just leads to every fight being predetermined, which ironically makes them less tense than ones with lower stakes. If Ace's execution had been about le fate of the world like in other shonen, losing never would've been a possibility.
Christopher Bell
Luffy reviving those Samurais' spirits is one of my favorite moments already. Can't wait to see what he does in this raid.
yeah except OP's point is about overpoweredness and Naruto is the prime example of an overpowered MC that won fights in virtue of that without actually being clever
Jace Martinez
*haki yes that's true but at the same time it wasn't Luffy's issue, iunderstand Oda's desire to keep some characters relevant in a way. and to be honest it's not like we have the entire Straw Hat crew learning all sorts of haki, heck, most Straw hats actually don't know it. Usopp gained CoO at Dressrosa without even realizing, it's mostly just the monster trio (now monster quad-rio?) that knows armament
Levi Carter
It was always obvious since near the start the something like haki existed, or do you did Gol D Roger was an overpowered logia user or never ever fought overpowered logia users?
There was always going to be a counter either everyone started rocking seastone weapons or there was a more soft counter. Haki is that soft counter.
Landon Cooper
Hilarious claim, given how his loss to Sasuke essentially mirrors Ace dying at Marineford. Let alone the fact that Luffy is overpowered as well, and One Pisser inability to cope with this very fact won't change it. Also no clue what part of Naruto you pretend to have read, but he has never won a single fight on his own. Unlike Monkeyboy, Naruto gets humbled outside of combat sequences because, duh, if he constantly lost fights he'd be dead.
Daniel Brooks
Wow what an absolute shit tier argument. naruto literally has near unlimited chakra and healing factor. The best tailed beast in the world and jutsu that allow him to learn anything elese very quickly.
That's stupidly OP in comparison to anything else in the universe. It's a main reason why sharingan hax got so absurd.
Cooper Cox
what about every time naruto won because he was born with op nine tailed fox fuel as a baby or when it turned out he was the reincarnation of an alien god or whatever >One Pisser OP didn't even shittalk anyone specifically, why are you butthurt
Gavin Carter
>haha bro, this is OP >haha bro, nono this hack n' eyed plot device called haki, the retarded gears as well as a bird brain supposedly having great leadership skills and CoC portray my Brazilian rolemodel as a down to earth character who isn't being powercreeped by the author nono
Isaiah Davis
He wasn't born with it, bird brain. If anything, it's closer to devil fruits than birth right.
Levi Ortiz
>There was always going to be a counter either everyone started rocking seastone weapons or there was a more soft counter. What about finding and exploiting the Logia's weaknesses like Luffy did against Crocodile?
Sebastian Bailey
People always fucking say that and it's the most low IQ take. How the fuck could Akainu's magma be exploited?
Camden Garcia
Good luck doing that with someone who can freeze you from across the fucking ocean, summon meteors or turn into magma
Lucas Cruz
he got it as a baby, point is he didn't learn it or earn it luffy ate the rubber fruit by mistake and he was immune blunt damage but that was the extent of his power. he had to invent and then find a way to perform even a basic gomu gomu pistol. it's a pretty big difference
well how do you counter biscuit armor?
Nicholas Fisher
Don't answer a question with another question. How would you counter magma? How would you counter darkness and earthquakes?
Nathaniel Peterson
you're just pulling shit out of your ass at this point haki didn't prevent Luffy from eating shit against multiple opponents, he struggled against almost every major enemy he faced post timeskip including him being one shot KO'd against Kaido. it's a skill that he had to learn and train and it's by no means overpowered. half the fucking crew doesn't even know haki gears literally fucking mess with your lifespan as well as other things luffy used to defeat enemies or as a consequence of a fight, it's not overpowered and he had to invent it and perfect it leadership isn't a fighting skill that can be measured by overpoweredness you mong. and luffy actually sucks at leadership and command, what he has in great amounts is charisma and personal magnetism. you're desperately trying to shit on OP for some reason and it's coming off poorly bud
Jack Kelly
>he got it as a baby, point is he didn't learn it or earn it Perfectly describes every single one of Luffy abilities. -gomu gomu no mi he accidentally ate -coc he just has cause of his parents -charisma he has because the author claims he does
How much of a bird brain are you to think Luffy's "training arcs" are somehow different than Naruto's? You don't even know what sort of mental gymnastics people need to go through to get used to elemental chakra, so how could you possible weigh? And please don't say >b-but he was taught! now. When Luffy first got his gear asspulls, he literally said he just copied CP9's kit. Which makes it even worse, how his first major powerup was a massive asspull without training or proper foreshadowing
