>their last good anime was Hyouka
What actually happened after that? Why did they decide to adapt objectively shit source materials?
Their last good anime was Hyouka
They decided to pander fujos
They largely shifted away from adapting the works of other companies in order to publish light novels and adapt said novels.
Who cares, they burned down
>Why did they decide to adapt objectively shit source materials?
The rights cost less. And we know KyoAni hates paying royalties.
Hibike S1*
Makes sense. They couldn't even afford fire exits, so paying royalties would bankrupt them.
Their last good anime was Maid Dragon. Kyoani 2010s top 5 shows:
1. Maid Dragon
2. Amaburi
3. Hyouka
4. Phantom World
5. Nichijou
faggot
I don't get it either. All they had to was find some decent source material. It can't have been that expensive.
>Why did they decide to adapt objectively shit source materials?
Because of Endless Eight. They realized the community didn't care about something being objectively good and just wanted brainless fanservice.
I'm just glad they still gave Haruhi the movie it deserved.
Their last good anime was Phantom World, which also was their only good anime alongside K-On!! (notice the exclamation marks).
Kyoani will NEVER be able to top Hyouka. You know why.
kyoani employees hyoka'd when they were burning alive
Their only good anime was FMP
See OP? The anime community doesn't want quality. Why would KyoAni bother?
Cringe
>1. Maid Dragon
>2. Amaburi
>5. Nichijou
Based.
>3. Hyouka
>4. Phantom World
Cringe.
Anyway, Haruhi and Fumoffu > the rest.
haruhi aged like onions milk
They latched onto a gimmick (pretty animation) and decided to never let go of it. Even at the cost of everything else. As was seen in VEG
Because they buy their own LNs now and animate it themselves.
I mean, that's a pretty smart move on their part. It saves them a lot of money, which could be better used for production and animation, not to mention they get to pay their animators better. And they have a wider latitude of decision making when it comes to production committees. They have a pretty solid business model that relies on their very rabid fanbase, these people would watch something just because KyoAni made it.
I want quality, which is why I don't care for Kyoto Animation unless they trying being somewhat inventive. Their Mexican soap operas cater to the lowest common denominator double digit IQ spic teens. As far as I am concerned, their entire building can burn to the ground if it assures another Studio 4C feature film to be made. You need to literally hate animation and artistic expression to flock to Kyoto Animation.
Maybe if you are retarded.
Kyoani 2000s top 5 shows:
1. Fumoffu
2. Lucky Star
3. K-On
4. Clannad
5. Second Raid
KyoAni moved from capitalist production to socialized production. Better rights and wages for animators but shit and soulless source materials to adapt from.
Haruhi was never good, it was just the Himouto Umaru-chan of that time, only real, and I mean, REAL autistic people will try to tell you it was a good show.
>Clannad
Just no. Keyshit is ever worse than Evergarbage.
They really should've just started publishing manga instead. I'm sure they could've attracted enough talented mangaka back then to submit things, maybe even choosing them first to have the chance of them animating it.
They also steal ideas from those light novel scam awards like communist china does with western tech.
I have autism and Yuki is my waifu
>I want quality
Then you're not one of the 2 anons i was replying to.
See OP? There's more here. The anime community doesn't like good things, it likes fanservice that panders to them. You can't blame KyoAni for getting money where it is.
Vanity
People endlessly wanking Kyoani made them think they could get by without investing in worthwhile source material
Its a shame that most of the decent staff were the ones that died for the sins of the greedy shits at the top
They really could have been something great if their upper management wasn't retarded
Publishing manga is far more involved compared to publishing novels.
To be fair, the idea of Haruhi getting the modern Kyoani treatment, aka VEG levels of overproduction and Adobe after effects, is repugnant. I'd rather have nothing more.
You post this terrible bait thread every week.
This is the first time I have ever made a kyoani thread schizo
Oh i'm pretty sure they would do Haruhi good. 2009 and Disappearance were worthy of the franchise. Was it because they're actually smart or because Tanigawa was involved? Who knows, but in any case i don't think they'd ruin it. They'd probably end up making another masterpiece, but since it's not braindead fanservice garbage, it's not gonna sell. 2006's popularity was borderline a coincidence. The fandom at the time didn't understand the first thing about the franchise.
Seems like I struck a nerve with how quick you responded. I'll filter this from now on.
Liz and the blue bird and A silent voice were objectively great movies.
>terrible bait
>the vast majority of the posters agree
Ok?
A fine idea if their company were attempting to create quality products rather than make as much money with as little effort as possible.
>but since it's not braindead fanservice garbage, it's not gonna sell
Fanservice isn't what's wrong with post-2011 Kyoani.
Oh no Yas Forums user is filtering the thread what do
but Liz and the Blue Bird was 2018
Maybe not directly, but it's definitely the reason why they don't bother with quality anymore. Because it's not what people want.
Violet Evergarden has been their most popular title since. That's what people want out of them these days.
A silent voice is objectively shit as a manga and surely is no better as a film.
