Personally I am still hoping that SlimeGirl is a fake. It'd be far too convenient for her to be alive. Tao Fa(?) coming back as a Kaiju is fun. Gotta love big monster battles.

Thought this would be on break as well, nice.
SlimeGirl being fake doesn't make sense as a development since it wasn't foreshadowed at all and we saw her inner thoughts.
Nice little intermediary chapter, the ninja are fun, shame about those cute one-offs but oh well.
Makes sense that Tao Fa would come back to bite us in the ass, having sensei live couldn't happen with no cost.
Surprised Gabi didn't notice any weird Tao around order autist.

I'm thinking there might be some kind of self-genjutsu on the FakeSlimeGirl. Like the best way to be an infiltrator is to no longer be an actor and really think that you are the target. Then Kaku could yank the rug out and 'surprise' us with the reveal.
Mainly I just want there to be a way that the death scene wasn't just an emotional trick. It was very well done, and if it was just bait, I'd be very disappointed.

I don't get why this manga isn't bigger.
It's shounen with the right amount of edge, nipples, action, and decent characters.

The plot is also pretty streamline and fun to follow. Art is nice as well.

This explains why the Magistrate's men in chapter 1 say all the Shinobi in Iwagakure drank the elixir of life.

Chunin and jonin might be Kishimoto's invention, but Genin for newbie ninja is a traditional term as far as I can see just googling it.

So, literally just "top", "middle", and "bottom"-rank ninja.

Yep. The first characters are also, literally, 'top', 'middle', and 'below' in Chinese. Something interesting: I didn't recognize the second character in each so I looked it up and it means "endure". Remember how Kishimoto kept saying a Shinobi is "one who endures" and how Itachi was the ultimate example of one but he "endured longer and harder" than anyone else? It's just a transliteration of these characters, lol. He's a "top" "endurer".
