Is still a lot left in my opinion. Nazarick is having a hard time controlling their territories already.
With how young people get married and getting children at a early age, Nazarick can easily repopulate the kingdom. The new generation is more easier to control and more loyal. 800k can easily become 9mill again in a decade or two. Also the Empire is not entering a prosperous era. With safe , no wars and enough food, the population would reach a ridiculous numbers and need new lands to settle down. Which Nazarick can move more people from the Empire to the kingdom.

That noble seems pretty competent. I wonder why Albedo didn't try to include him in the list of nobles that could be recruited. Seems to me that noble is very flexible and can make his city pretty prosperous if given the chance. Destroying it is such a waste.

Well think of it as another test. If he's actually competent enough to be recruited, he'll understand that the previous battle was won only by chance and he's got no hope of surviving another battle and he'll have to either get his town the fuck away or appeal for vassalage. If he's not as competent then he dies along with the rest of the town.
