Yes

No.

Story wise no, but it did have better visuals

Maybe

The duality of Yas Forums

This

Yes, of course.

Yeah MC were badass and fights were cool as fuck. And if you're an alpha male, that's what you're seeking in animes

This is your average modern anime protagonist. A weak willed faggot without any agency, desperately searching for a woman that can take decisions for him, because taking control of your own life is too hard. It's enough to make you puke.

It was better in that we didn't have 50 shitty anime coming out each season

Back then anime had an actual budget, the art style was better and 13 episodes anime was the exception, not the rule. Barring that that they're pretty much the same.

>Adaptations of the hottest shonen at the time
>Lots of forgetable anime
>Lots of mediocre anime
>"BUY THE SOURCE MATERIAL" adaptations
>Toyetic anime
>Moe anime
>Remakes of better anime

There is nothing more eye opening that checking those charts listing all the anime shows every year.

The peaks were higher.

>Back then anime had an actual budget
L O L

Yes because people actually drew it, and because they actually had to tell a good story to make money, instead of mass producing isekai for NEETS

>Yes because people actually drew it
You know people still draw it right?

god this would just cancel anime as a whole if it was aired today.

Everything was better in the past, that's the point of the past.

Except anime back then was as exploitative as it is now. Just replace NEETs with children and teenagers and isekai with whatever was hot at the time:
>Super robots
>Gundam clones
>Evangelion clones
>Clones of whatever is in at the time (like the Ah My Goddess clones)
>Adaptations of popular manga

You're under the wrong belief that every anime before was Cowboy Bebop or Lain tier.

based tranny destroyer urameshi

It was occasionally, but you are not using a good example.
The Yu Yu Hakusho anime absolutely butchered a lot of the arcs it touched, especially the first two.
While the Dark Tournament had some good moments in the anime, it got really dragged down by shit like filler comedy segments with Koenma and his filler troll thing, and dragging out every single fight.
Dub also sucked. Every character who had an accent was unintelligable.

Define the past.

>Every character who had an accent was unintelligable.
I've never seen anyone else have this issue

Anime was better in the 70s/80s
>Space Runaway Ideon
>Devilman OVAs
>Early Dragon Ball
>prime Mobile Suit Gundam
>prime mahou shoujo

>Dub also sucked
You are actually retarded if you believe this

this user got it right.

>No crap CGI
>If a work was going to get adapted it needed to stand on it's own and not just be a one cour LN advertisement

Yes.

Off the top of my head, Jin was horrible the few seconds of him I saw in the dub. It was like trying to talk to one of my cousins at a Christmas party and they got really fucking loaded, basically incomprehensible scottish that I just have to nod along to.
Botan also had a jarring as hell dub VA.
I don't get why people like it. It's just as offensive as every other dub in terms of taking liberties with the material. I get the feeling this one in particular is beloved because it's from the same block that aired DBZ in America, but unlike DBZ, there isn't a massive fanbase debating dub vs sub.
