Come on, don't pretend like you haven't acted like this before.

>Well, I've seen it 5 times, and I'm only 17. Have you heard of an anime called "Legends of Galactic Heroes?" Bet you haven't, lol

At that age I pretended I'd never heard of anime in my life and denied ever seeing any.

>I'm OP and I'm a massive faggot, I post b8 threads calling good shows garbage. Heh...you've probably heard of my world record asshole diameter haven't you?

As insufferable as you naturally are at 18, you're off to a good start if you can name Lain among your favorite chinese cartoons.

Lain is the penultimate teenshit

Lain is art

Lain is love and love is Lain

>Lain
>Obscure
Fucking shonenspics

>penultimate
So it's second from last?

I want to sex Lain

Second to Eva

I had to act like this with Lain when I was a 14 year old to convince older weebs that I was "deep enough into anime" to "fully appreciate" FLCL and Evangelion so that they could borrow those to me. I cringed back then when I said it and I still cringe now.

It's funny how as you watch more anime you learn which shows to swear blind are not your favourite, without ever really determining what your favourite actually is.

is there anything more pathetic than le ironic posters?

Lain... give me back my advertisers...

Why yes, i did watched thousands of anime series, OVA and movies made in the last 60 years and consider Lain as my favorite anime of all time with Legend of Galactic Heroes as close second, how did you know?

Lol, at the last anime con I went to it was entirely 16 year olds dressed up as Demon Slayer/My Hero. No one was selling Lain, Ergo Proxy, or Texhnolyze, they said it was too old.

I like that artist's Lain.

The pretentious holy trinity
>Lain
>Monogatari
>Evangelion (sans movie)

I'm at episode 2 and the plot seems pretty straightforward and Lain is cute but I could bet 99% of the trippy scenes don't really add anything other than making this seem deeper than it really is. So that's why this anime is praised so much here.

Wait a couple layers buddy

why are you watching this like a redditor, like it's some kind of competition to see how fast you can consume the "meaning"? just watch the cartoon and try to think about what those "trippy" scenes could mean. if they mean nothing, or something, that's up to you.

by 18 u should probably be past this phase tho

How do you watch something as a redditor? Do you tilt your head 45° or something?
I watched the translated PS1 cutscenes beforehand and for me the fun lies on trying to follow the story and making sense of it. If the screen suddenly goes technicolor but nothing happens afterwards you just get confused for what trippy shit should be considered relevant and what shouldn't.

Remove monogatari, add Elfen Lied

On their own, "trippy" scenes don't have to add anything other than maybe establish tone or make you question what's real or not. It's like saying having an unreliable narrator or dream sequences an attempt at depth. What?

That belongs to the forgotten trinity.

Lain was a bit hard to comprehend the first few times but after watching it the third time i think i get an idea of it. I really like the aesthetics and the tone of the anime
