Looking at them side by side they have completely different group dynamics. It's not a 1 to 1 comparison. That said, I think the comedy and sketches were also distinct. They each set out to capture a different audience, so they aren't funny in the same ways.
Lucky star has references and pop culture and whatnot, Yuru Yuri has a rich universe of homos to draw upon. I don't think this is a fair comparison at all. This is paramount to comparing apples to oranges.

Lucky Star is a classic that inspired most of the slice of life anime with cute girls that were produced later. Also a great time capsule about the otaku culture in the 2000s decade. They really don't compare.
