I was really confused with the drama, really. And if you truly look at it, the only source of drama in the closing chapters was Nino, right? Nobody else. The rest of the girls could have had 1 chapter for them to do all that acceptance thing. Ichika didn't even confront Yotsuba about it at all, nor did Itsuki (although tsuki was all for F4 I think).
There was no need for "pity."

I think if he did that it would have given the feeling that the series would be extended. And knowing Negi, the guy's a bit of a hardheaded writer. his branches, his words, I don't think he's someone who can go back on what he already said/set his mind upon.
But that kind of development would have been really good, he could have inserted the long awaited 4 and 5 arcs in between. There were many months that were skipped even when going to the Last Festival.

F thinks about romance since April, but leaves it to figure out in 3 days in October. Negi truly shitted on the romance aspect.

He magically erased the lolikano photo as well. Yotsuba chose silence, so there shouldn't be drama on that front if she really moved from their past. F had the chance to pry, didn't give a shit, which is honestly Negi's lazy writing. Miku no Hanayome will tackle the issue after he already chose Miku.

Lolikano business should have been resolved in SW instead of the whole shitfest we got.
If Yotsuba simply revealed her sisters she was in love with Fuutarou and joined the fair rivalry with others it would eliminate 70% of complains we got about Yotsuba's victory and remove any possible drama from the last volume. SW and flashback chapters could be used to resolve her guilt complex and server as her character development. And Fuutarou didn't even need to know she was lolikano, it would be a secret between all of the sisters.
But instead SW was spent on the most disgusting waifuwars possible. I'll repost this chart again. It's compilation of all discussion threads from 2chan. SW had more shitposting than the fucking ending. And in the end the whole SW turned out to be a meaningless filler.

Recency bias of course. When it comes to support, no doubt Yotsuba had her fair share in supporting Fuutarou but the other quints did too. And this is the main reason why I really disliked Fuutarou's reasoning as to why he chose Yotsuba. It was shallow and uninspired. It wasn't romantic. It wasn't even properly laid out in the series.
And as you and many others have pointed out, Yotsuba has her fair share of shortcomings that sometimes even go against what Fuutarou has decided on, and Fuutarou knew of those. It wasn't as if he didn't know. Outside lolikano he knew almost everything about the quints.

This is true. I expected it to be resolved or at the very least tackled upon in SW since they were all in Kyoto after all and lolikano and Fuutarou had a history there.

The most important lesson of that arc was in the last chapters when Ichika, Nino and Miku agree that they are not enemies, but rivals. But it was mostly meaningless because later in chapter 118 Negi had to repeat it once again just for Yotsuba.
Also I just remembered that in SW Ichika said "we are not enemies", but in chapter 118 Yotsuba said that actually "sometimes we are enemies" which shows that even Negi forgot what he wrote in that filler SW arc.
