Yall niggas complain about Bleach even when the characters introduced in that arc somehow managed to still be more interesting than 99% of the characters in One Piece despite you claiming it was just a “series of fights” lol. Even as someone who likes One Piece the fans are irritating, you lot conflate bloated, unfocused, meandering, repetitive and stale writing for quality. You think just because Oda takes 5000 years to finish one arc and gives all the shitty side characters he introduces shitty, melodramatic backstories which fuck the pacing to hell he’s somehow above his peers when that couldn’t be any further from the truth lol.
I’d take a simple story like the Hueco Mundo arc with badass characters like Ulquiorra or Grimmjow or Starkk over a bloated, convoluted, never ending mess like Dressrosa or Fishman island with a truckload of shallow, one dimensional characters like Doflamingo's entire family, practically everyone on Fishman Island including that irritating ass princess and Rebecca. If not for Doflamingo himself and his history with Law that dressrosa arc might be one of the worst arcs in anime in recent years. You talk about how Hueco Mundo was just battle after battle but that’s exactly what Dressrosa was too, only difference is that the characters Kubo introduced were actually interesting, he managed to give them even a little bit of depth and he didn’t spend a century telling it.
