The purpose of weekly releases is to build hype. People have a week to talk about what happened, what they think is going to happen, etc., and in Japan the critical secondary entertainment market of fan artworks is given time to operate. Binge releases on the other hand are a cynical development by streaming companies who don't particularly care about the quality of what they put on their platforms as long as it's "good enough" for people to keep coming back. They don't want or care about getting committed fans, or building up hype, they just want people to be minimally entertained Youtube-style on a continuous feed of content in order to maintain their subscriptions.

This series isn't even something where hype is an issue considering it's mostly a gag series. It's more that a reasonable amount of the fun of being on Yas Forums can be in the episode threads, and some people will end up avoiding the threads if they haven't finished it yet.
There was a decent amount of OC generated in some of the threads that some people may never see because they're watching it slower.
