The point is that nu-shonen lacks the edge of the previous generations. Not just referring to the big 3.

Try looking outside of Shounen Jump. Fire Force and Tokyo Revengers are pretty great Zoomer Shounen manga.

The Arlong Park arc's more serious tone compared to prior arc's is a blatant example of edge. Arlong straight up making an example of Bellemere right in front of Nami and Nojiko by shooting her in the head is definitely fucking edge.

Shonen is for children and retards anyways but audiences in the past pursued uniqueness even if it was barely readable like HunterxHunter or that made little to no sense like Naruto/One Piece, in opposite side modern audiences pursue things that are fast and easy to digest meaning things are more generic making it easy to speed read without losing any context but it still crappy demographics.

I hate KnY but that's the only near objective metric available MHA was absurdly shallow but KnY is able to surpass even that level shallowness also BC makes Naruto absurd obnoxiousness look very tame
