Is this is the only anime that could be considered truely flawless?
Is this is the only anime that could be considered truely flawless?
The plot ends up petering off at the end, and so it isn't as strong or satisfying as it could be, but it pretty much the most consistently great thing anime has to offer
It's very good but i don't understand what people see in it that's so special? It isn't deep or anything, doesn't really have themes, no particularly interesting mechanic or anything that innovative either. What is it people love so much about this show? Again it's good but i fail to see how you could compare it to, say, Eva or Haruhi.
Honestly i get the feeling most of the MAL top picks are 8/10
>truely
It doesn't have any fanservice for me to fap to so no
>What is it people love so much about this show?
>show
Opinion dropped
Watch redline
> Eva, Harhui
> Anything but dogshit
Way to invalidate your opinion, get filtered
Storywise I prefer Kiki but Miyazaki's films in general are character driven rather than plot.
Yeah i should have said movie, i'm too used to talking about series
Princess Mononoke exists, so no.
xd funny meme lol
Anyone has a serious answer?
It's a classic. Something very fleeting but timeless. You feel some sort of magic watching it, or atleast I do.
It's one of those films that is a masterpiece in it's simplicity. It's not really anything to write home about. But it has so many little things that it does right and makes it feel magical.
> Ashitaka is basically irrelevant to the plot
> Main character is actually San
> San cucks Ashitaka to get Knotted up the ass by Wolf's instead
No, Ghibli can't write anything except FeMC's
No
You're looking at it all wrong. It's a very simple story about adolescence and independence, two very universal themes, told in a well animated, very whimsical, and solidly developed way. It appeals to both adults and children due to the aforementioned themes, and due to its simplicity and universality, it's able to be quite emotionally affecting to a lot of people, if you're not too cynical that is. It's not some hyper-profound, super-subversive, and really innovative anime like the things you mentioned, it's just extremely solid in every way and palatable to many.
It also, most likely, has to do with the fact it's for a bit of nostalgia to it for a lot of anime viewers, and the whole thing about Ghibli being most people's introduction to anime.
Yeah that's what i felt about it too, it's well done but doesn't try many things, which made me wonder why it specifically was loved so much. But if there's a nostalgia factor i understand, it's definitely better than the shonenshit most people watched as kids
Unfortunately there's misspelled English on a sign at the end of Rebellion so as much as I'd like to I can't submit it as a contender for being truly flawless
Rebellion is trash compared to OG Madoka
Nah OG Madoka has several instances of really shitty animation so it's even less flawless than Rebellion
He's the best male character ever outside of Kenshin, actually kill yourself
Porco Rosso exists, so no.
> 10/10 Soundtrack
> 10/10 Story
> 10/10 Characters
> 10/10 Ending
> 10/10 Visuals
Yep, i agree with this. Mononoke is every bit as incredible as Spirited Away & Nausicaa
>Animation
>Kenshin
Really couldn't think about anyone else?
Nope, pretty much every male protagonist is a bland piece of shit that only exists for self insert purposes. Kenshin is the best one hands down
Kenshin is a self-insert.
Every ghibli series is overrated
Fuck you
>Flawless
Not even close.
Princess Mononoke is better
