Why isn’t Ichigo a athlete? I remember during the Fullbringer arc he used to join sport teams for money. Makes no sense he’d be a broke guy running a clinic when Chad is a millionaire athlete, especially when Ichigo is stronger, faster, has more stamina, etc.

I think it's not something you're supposed too think too much about. You could say "muh high reiatsu", but there's a dead kid who acts as Shibata's big bro who's been a kid dead kid for decades, nothing implies he's any special. And you'd expect Rukia and Renji's kid to be of rather high potential. Aging in Soul Society is absolutely random.

I always had the head canon that you age until you reach your “peak”. Though with Yamamoto aging so much in 2000 years maybe not, but he seemed like he was stronger than then by a significant amount, so maybe?
