Honestly, because I didn't grow up where people use the term middle school, it always confused me because I associate it with kids like it is now used by some places but it's really just young teens in Japan. When I think back to that age in school there were definitely people like this, people were already towering over the teachers, having kids, forming gangs, committing crimes etc.
