soul

soulless

5/9 Big fan of EoE, Planetes and Cowboy Bebop. GLT and MiA are pretty alright too, if slightly pretentious. The rest is full force, but whatever works for you.

7/9 K-On and Haibane Renmei are based. Sora no Woto, Aria and NNB aren't my favorites, but still very solid.

souless = dishonest =/= psychological/"deep" shows. I think I can get a sense of OP's taste from that 3x3, and it doesn't seem like elitist pandering.

Evangelion is for gays
SSR's art wasn't interesting enough for me
Angel's Egg is for gnostics
Made in Abyss has some amazing monster designs but the creepy fetish stuff makes me feel like praying to cleanse myself
Perfect Blue is a predecessor to Yas Forums's war on the e-thots
Lain and Texhnolyze are pretty cool and Konaka's philosophy is always interesting
Planetes manga was one of the cooler sci fi stories, I liked the character design and mechanical design
Cowboy Bebop is for Jewmericans and the other Watanabe shows are a lot better
K-On is comfy music and I like the style of animation how it's focused on characterising with movement, as opposed to impressive sakuga you find in shitflinging threads
Did not like Monogatari because it's shit storytelling pretending to be profound, good example of why postmodern stories are terrible
Code Geass is a very goofy but very fun show
Madoka is for homosexuals who masquerade as elitists
Hunter x Huner is for elitists who masquerade as homosexuals
GITS is for trans(humanist) but Oshii has a good eye for compelling shots
Kill la Kill is Imaishit at his second most hackish, the biggest hackery being Promare
I like FKMT but Kaiji wasn't as good at getting me hooked as Akagi

Spirited Away is the worst Miyazaki movie and everyone knows it
Cagliostro is a redpilled movie, it teaches us about what happens with the money supply under capitalism, how international finance is a scam by oligarchs, that oligarchs are all involved in weird cults and want to marry underage girls, and that they're hiding truths of the world to keep the population stupid and docile, would recommend
Luluco was endearing, I liked the LWA cameos and Chief Over Justice
Patlabor 2 is an interesting collection of ideas but a bad story, fantastic visual direction for Oshii's 3am weed notepad
Utena confuses me because it has homosexuals and I don't understand why they exist
I haven't seen Paprika for a long time, can't remember if I had any thoughts about it
Ping Pong is better as a manga because Matsumoto is a great artist

EoE earned it by having 20+ of more or less normal coming-of-age mecha episodes as buildup. And even then enough plot threads are more straightforward.
