Democracy loses, there "might" be some kind of constitution, and only one single planet gets to govern itself? What even was the point of Julian leading that giant battle to improve negotiations?
Also, with the stable ruler dead along with democracy the future of the galaxy is totally uncertain, his son could be an absolute shithead or other nobles could easily squabble over power and ruin all the progress he made
Seems like it will develop into an age of space exploration as the new nations develop without the restraints of the two mega nations (and the fall of the Tarraist who were responsible for every bad thing in the series).
Caleb Hughes
it has an ending? Shame it wasn't on episode 12, that's where it deserves to end
Jose Brooks
democracy obtains a bastion in heinessen so, in case the dynasty starts decaying, they can lead and inspire a rebellion that rejuvenates the galaxy and society. that is why julian had to fight, to prove he could lead. they also serve as an oficial democratic faction in imperial politics, wich is more than there had been for 500 years. also, reinhard told hilda that alexander siegfried did not need to inherit and the nobles had lost most of the power after the lippstad war (almost all powers were concentrated in the imperial ministers and they only gain power through the kaiser). the only real danger is that the imperial military, wich has been glorified to death and has basically full independence from the civilian government, somehow rebels.

take your adderal
Nathaniel Peterson
will adderal make it less shit?
Liam Miller
That certainly wouldn't happen. >Reuenthal Well it certainly wouldn't happen again.
Eli King
It willmake your opinion less shit
Angel Russell
your meds. take them.
Connor Bennett
The point is that it's uncertain, the galaxy is always in motion. You simply saw the end of Reinhard's story.
Julian Rogers
The end of LoGH is not terribly complicated.
The final vision for a successful human society is a middle way between cruel Imperial autocracy and self-destructive Republican democracy - the best form of government for a society that is both stable and just is Constitutional Monarchy, modelled after Japan or the modern UK.
Hudson Morales
I'd love a sequel that focuses on the life of Alexander as someone who grows up in the shadow of his heroic father, and tries to live up to the expectations placed on him.
Parker Turner
>stable >modern UK >Just >modern Japan >Laughing_Abe_and_Johnson.jpg.png.gif.tiff

it wont make that dogshit any better
Eli Bennett
A successful human society isn't really about the government type, it's the quality of the people and the culture. A government run by good, competent people will be good regardless of the type of government (As long as it's not too inefficient), and even the theoretically best type of government will be shit if led by shitty people.
Jace Gomez
We get it already, you're a low IQ retard, you don't need to keep making that more and more obvious with your moronic remarks.
Tyler Miller
I get it already, you're upset that I wasn't impressed by your overrated dogshit that you're pathetically attached too, it's ok, you can still pretend that it's highbrow viewing if that makes you feel less insecure.

Blake Barnes
This is just sad, now you're projecting your insecurities onto other people. Not only that you spend your time complaining about a show that you haven't even watched due to your ridiculously feeble attention span, and somehow think that makes you superior. I honestly can't imagine anything more pathetic than your current display of insecurity.
Levi Cox
Cool big words my fellow high iq man of culture, saying all those things wont make it any less overrated or shit though.
Julian Lee
It needs to have something valuable worth paying attention to, which it doesn't have. Just endless dialogue for easily impressed midwits.
Wyatt Edwards
>stable >modern uk it is stable compared to most countries, you can call it lots of things but unstable isn't really one of them.
Oliver Johnson
>only one single planet gets to govern itself A whole star system, actually. So it's bad, but not that bad. There will be room for all the refugees from the Empire to join democracy when the next imperial power struggle occurs.
Eli Wood
They have offbrand trump as PM to lead them through their little break up with the EU. This offbrand trump also has been visited by Corona-chan. They ain't bloody stable at the moment.
Ryder Green
Just finished first season on my first rewatch,
Is the Blu-ray release really the best way to go? I'm having second thoughts after watching this comparison: youtube.com/watch?v=40tKSSTbfFQ

Take it up withYoshiki Tanaka, he's the one who wrote it. Nonetheless, constitutional monarchy is the conclusion he comes to as the moderate balance between the two extremes.
Elijah Smith
You do realise that LoGH was written in the Eighties?
Daniel Barnes
This, anyone who walks away from LOGH thinking it's some sort of definitive statement about the right way to run society has already stopped at the most surface level observation of the story's themes.
We saw both republican democracy and autocratic regimes at their worst, in the form of the FPA and the Goldenbaum Dynasty respectively. The only difference is we never really see republican democracy get a chance to show its good qualities whereas Reinhard gets to show off what an imperial autocracy can accomplish in the right hands.
And even then, it never hesitates to remind us of its myriad fallible points of weakness. That's the point of the ending. Democracy dies, except not really. Autocracy triumphs, for now. Nothing is eternal. I think it's why the show left a few dangling plot threads in the end. Erwin Josef is still possibly out there. And even if he isn't, a noble upstart with enough clout could make the claim they're acting in his name, regardless of the truth. Reinhard purposely left the nature of his succession vague. It will almost assuredly lead to conflict if not in the next generation, then within the next few as his words become less commandments and more ideological rhetoric to be appropriated. Julian explicitly states he will not retire, and will likely spend the rest of his life fighting to defend Heinessen's fragile position. Who's to say Alexander doesn't end up being a weak ruler or inheriting his father's illness? Or that Mittermeyer's child doesn't discover the true nature of his birth which sends him down a darker path?
These are obviously all hypotheticals, but I think it's important that LOGH left us with those in the end, because that's what real history looks like. It doesn't just end.
Noah Cox
And why are you judging LoGH by a public health crisis (that few countries have handled well at all) that's happened about 30 years after it was published?
Blake Bailey
>buying the PM's on screen persona >PM contracts bat aids >Still PM and not former PM of warring states of UK. Seems pretty stable though probably just through habit and convenience same as everywhere else.
Elijah Roberts
>mfw we'll never see a sequel with felix defecting from the empire with alex tracking him down
It loses for now. The point is that this cycle of war never ends and that it will continue as long as humanity exists. The Empire believed they were the culmination of humanity but eventually he FPA was formed and the Goldenbaum dynasty ended, and 500 years is nothing.
Leo Nguyen
woah dude, that's some deep shit.
Christian Scott
Sadly a proper BD transfer of all 110 episodes using their original masters is unlikely. They did those touchup scenes for the DVD release and they're generally just cosmetic, LoGH was never supposed to be this gorgeous example of what animation could provide, it was a means to tell the story. Given that, a good BD transfer still brings of all of the art to a crisp presentable resolution, as witness by hundreds of releases of 70s-90s titles.
