Yas Forums stumbled on his youtube channel in 2007, before the concept of e-celebs or obnoxious people making a living from youtube really existed. The novelty of an old elderly man walking through the desert while interviewing anime was fucking hilarious and intriguing, not to mention on top of that he has genuinely great tastes and his reviews were really articulate, objective and well written.
He's always stuck around or talked about positively, even when the 2010s came and the internet got flooded with retarded e-celebs and obnoxious youtubers.
And his abrupt disappearance and rumored death made him a legend.
