It's not the school arcs per se, it's how they're built. Sports festival was ok, school festival had too much build-up and the Gentle stuff slapped there almost as an afterthought, JT was pointless. It was to show class A growth? Last arc did it in a single chapter. Was to show off class B? Again, why take half a fucking year?
