I just want isidro to be more fleshed out he's literally the most useless member right now with almost nothing to even emotionally attach him to the reader. Best we got was when he was chatting with the old man in enoch years ago. Its even more jarring given how much miura did with shierke when she was introduced much later.

Highly debatable. What "ruined" Puck is that Puck finally SUCCEEDED in dragging Guts back from the edge of total despair and self destruction. Once Guts opened up and accepted others again (first Puck then the rest) Puck's role shifted dramatically. Now he can relax and provide heals when needed.

Isidro, off the top of my head:

Saved Casca from the pyre, something Guts would have failed to do on his own and the narration makes that abundantly clear. He fucked up the first time saving her, but made up for it later. This is already huge, and if anyone wonders why Guts took in Isidro this alone should explain why.

Guarded the people of Enoch and Schierke and lead them out of the Qliphoth. Again, Guts (and SK) had their hands full at this time so it was Isidro pulls through or people just start dying. Isidro was feeling useless before this, and Guts had to remind him that he was there because he was needed.

Pissed off Schierke in Vritannis but made up for it by retrieving her and apologizing. Not critical as Guts tailed them both anyway, but Guts told Isidro to do something and he did it.

Isidro also helped keep the daka and pishacha at bay with bombs, which are more useful at creating space than anyone gives credit for. Even Isidro admits its not flashy but it's something he can do. And you bet your ass if it was Judeau tossing them most of you would think that's just fine.

Isidro is constantly pushing himself to improve because he wants to be a fighter. This is what sets him apart from Jill who just wanted to get away from her shitty home life but had no great ambition otherwise. Because of this he was able to keep up with the possessed pirates and Sea God's tentacles, again protecting the magicians and making sure they had time to cast spells.

Could you imagine if Jill had filled Isidro's role? Miura would have had to make her some surprise savant with a blade, given she had no experience and showed no interest in fighting. Could Jill have pulled off the bungie?

And there'd be no denying that Berserk was harem anymore at that point. Might as well go all out with it. Make the party Guts + Schierke, Jill, Isma, Casca, Farnese, get rid of Puck and keep Ivalera, recruit Morda, and turn Serpico into a reverse trap.
