Liking Yuasashit is low IQ.

I like when my sports anime have superpowers. Literally no point to watching the generic ones instead of real matches.

Nah the sports genre is the most formulaic of them all

I don't like sports anime but I liked Ping Pong the Animation a lot.

There are no sports matches going on right now
Source: I'm a filthy crossboarder from /sp/, that board has been dead for weeks

>instead of real matches.
Why? Anime is superior than watching 3D sports.

people never give it a chance because it's either shounen or fujo centered.
there are good sports shows that focus on the spot itself, they're just really rare.

When you're a kid, the crazy shit athletes at their peak pull off seem superhuman. So you can suspend your disbelief when they portray them doing superpower bullshit that border on parody.
Then you grow up, and you see sports for what they are especially if you partake in some yourself, seeing people pull off MMO-abilities to do mundane fucking shit just becomes impossible to bear.

It is what it is.

Sports anime are fucking boring the same way shonens are.

Don't think so. Besides watching sports anime fucking hurts, especially if you've practiced sports during your life. As someone who practiced swimming and basketball for about five years, I tried to watch Kuroko no basket and ahiru no Sora and I just couldn't bear it, the amount of stupidity is just too high.

Too many sports anime are for little kids or are massive fujo bait
The rest are fine

Ridiculous fantasy sports with "realistic" internal consistency > real sports with ridiculous fantasy superpowers out of nowhere.

baby steps is great and severely underrated
it honestly motivated me and my friends to play for the school tennis team during highschool

>Ridiculous fantasy sports with "realistic" internal consistency

So basically what quidditch would be if the points system made more sense? I've never seen a manga/anime about ridiculous fantasy sports, do they exist as a genre?

>ping pong
>sports anime

Very often I get the feeling that those who like sports anime are fat incels who've never actually practiced any sports. I do believe pingpong is a very good anime sport, though. After all, IRL pingpong looks like fucking anime anyway, with its exaggerated motion and volleys.

Read/watch slam dunk instead

Only Yas Forums cares about crap like "fujo centered". Stuff like haikyuu are pretty popular all around.

>incels
Would Yas Forumsnons please stop using this word when they just mean "loser." Not all losers are incels. An incel is a specific type of loser.

I really liked how they handled the romance. It never got in the way and even helped MC and the girl develop together in their goals

>Projecting
A lot of sports manga like hajime no ippo or holy land are written by actual athletes.

They're all projecting. No one successful enough to write a popular sports manga would be a loser in the first place.

Track and field is the only acceptable sports for manga.
I really want a Vagabond-style philosophy manga about track

I’m glad the nba is gone, one less year of Lebitch

>Lebitch
I think you meant Lelouch

What point are you even trying to make? I've never addressed the creators, but the losers who enjoy their work. I don't know a single volleyball playing adult who likes Hakyuu, a single boxer who likes Ippo, or a single football player who like Tsubasa. Then again, those people aren't professionals. They practice said sports at a high level, but still as a hobby. Guess you need to be a double digit IQ nbungu French pace nigger to enjoy them. Or be fat.

A lot of people who watch sports anime/read sports manga are inspired to tryout the sport.
Yas Forums had a couple of people who tried running when run with the wind was airing.

Playing ping pong is low test

I think what hes saying is that people who dont donthe sport can definitely be inspired but people who already participate in the sport wont.

For the record though I was a runner and I liked run with the wind.
