It's the opposite - only a brainlet can enjoy it.

brainlet

You have to be a brainlet to enjoy it.

It's not a matter of understanding it, it's a matter of being interested enough to follow. It has nothing to do with intelligence.

Start with the Greeks

Were people more unique back then than now when the Romans were at their peak? Everything seems more bland and uniform in most developed countries these days with a few notable differences here and there.

You don't even have to go back that far. There were major cultural and architectural differences between even neighbouring European countries until relatively recently (the last 70 years or so). You can thank globalisation for the homogeneity of the modern world, particularly the developed West.

Back on topic, you don't have to be a genius to watch Ergo Proxy. It's enjoyable and worth a watch though. Good atmosphere. It's a bit of a slow burner and not very fast-paced, so might not be suitable for people with short attention spans.

wtf are you talking about

This was one of the worst anime I have ever watched

>t one iq

I liked it but Texhnolyze or Ghost in the Shell was way better.

Regardless of how pretentious the show is, I would fuck Re-l.

I mean you can try but...
I have a PHD on applied math and had some hard time following the plot and stuff, so i don't think a smooth brain like ur average Yas Forums poster can really enjoy this piece of media to its fullest, but again, trying cant kill you, but your head might hurt a little.

I was gonna say this.
I am a brainlet and I enjoyed it.

They all have pretty boring moments desu
Definitely the same kind of show, so i understand the comparison

>applied math
brainlet

>Can a brainlet enjoy ergo proxy?
No. Stick to Tower Of God instead.

No, it's a fun, episodic anime in vein of cowboy bebop, samurai champloo, space dandy and the like. People say it's pretentious because of a few hamfisted references, but they don't define this show. Pino to this day is still the cutest anime loli.

I don't understand where this meme came from, honestly.
Shit's perfectly reasonable given the power and nature of Proxies. Everything being an existential fiasco fits perfectly given how everyone on the planet was just fated to wither away and die, their sole purpose being to populate the world long enough for some balance to be struck so that the special humans can return from their elysium just as planned .

No, Ergo Proxy is a dumb person's smart anime. Try watching something good instead like Psycho Pass.

It's pretentious but fun. Even if you don't understand all of it, you can still enjoy it.

It's a straight forward stylistic show, nothing high iq or even hidden from the audience. This is just a bait to make an EP thread so you already know that though, what's everyone's favorite episode and why is it the cabin fever one?

I liked Psychopass but it's basically GitS for retards so why not just watch GitS?

Because everyone has already seen GitS.

Something something Amy Lee in Post apocalype utopia with paranoid android ED.
Thats all i can remember

>favorite episode

>it's a library
>every book is a piece of your life's story
>actually it's a maze
>at the center of the maze is your room
>actually your room was a movie set

Blows my fucking mind. The coolest fucking imagery put to film to date in my opinion.

It's really not pretentious at all, it just uses some fancy words for cool factor.

You'd be surprised, every American and nip has seen GitS.

Because you didn't watch it, she's a side character.

I watch it like around 10 years ago so thats all i can remember.

I thought it was a cool way to infodump, definitely beats the garbage ass gameshow episode but it's not that unique.

Then you have brain damage, severe brain damage at that. She gets less screen time and is less relevant than Pino. I'm just going to assume you got blown up a lot, was it Irag or Afghanistan?

Name something better. Go on, I'll wait.
As for the gameshow episode I too dismissed it twice until I decided to power through it and realized it actually feeds directly into the story instead of being comedic recap filler.

>Pino
Who ??
All i can remember is Amy lee and the male protagonist (forgot his name since he was forgettable) who somehow can transform into a demon like thing.

The cabin fever episode was good, the doppelganger proxy episode was also amazing. Any episode that really had the proxies interact not to mention the initial escape from the city. The gameshow episode though was just a creative way to deal with running out of time and covering otherwise unmentioned plot points.
