Would you say anime has gotten better or worse since late 2000s / early 2010s? Personally I feel it's gotten better in some aspects and worse in others. I generally prefer 2000s anime though.

I feel like it's gotten a lot worse, I don't know if it's because I've gotten older or something though

Anime has been in decline since the early 10s.

Honestly wouldn't doubt it. The magic I felt watching clannad, old fate, angel beats, is something that most modern shows fail to replicate. Usually I'm just sitting there with a straight face until the show is over before forgetting it and mindlessly moving onto the next

it's gotten more effiicient at telling a story. A lot of older anime drag things out needlessly or have a lot of filler.

>clannad, old fate, angel beats
nigga wat

It's gotten more popular which means more money/energy/people go into it but the studios feel more inclined to cater to normalfags. I'd say the good to bad ratio has increased but the average is about the same. Also we tend to see the past with rose colored goggles, there was seasonal trash back then too but we just forgot about it and only remember the great shows.

Personally I feel like anime was better when I first discovered it and was constantly enthralled by it

worse, art got worse and fake and generic, stories are now based on fads for too long, with stories done thousand of times.

The discussion around anime has been getting worse.

We haven't gotten an actual masterpiece since Madoka

We haven't gotten an actual masterpiece since Yuyushiki

We haven't gotten an actual masterpiece since Cowboy Bebop

The number of anime has increased and the number of good anime on average has gone up with that.

There's certainly trends of disadvantages and advantages to the current state of anime as a whole, but I'd say in the long run we're doing at least a little bit better.

Definitely feels like it's gotten worse. There are way more shows than ever, but the problem is that so many are the same formula, we sacrificed quality for quantity. And personally, I enjoyed the battle harem era of spammable trash more than the isekai one we're still in.

if only certain admin of certain site could move his stupid ass and do something

what's next when isekai finally blows over?

Early 2010s had some good anime but turned to shit around 2015.

With Bakarina starting off, we may transition to an otome villainess trend though some of there are still isekai.

Absolutely worse.

>there will never be another anime as epic as Madoka

I on the other hand feel it's gotten much worse in some aspects, whereas on the other hand much better in others. Guess we're just two sides of the same coin.

You know what I don't see enough in anime these days? Cute girls. They really ought to step up their game.

2000's and 2010's anime > 80's and 90' anime.
This is an objective fact. Not only has animation got better in recent years, genres of anime increased in 2000'/2010's also. If you disagree with this you're a boomer.

>The magic I felt watching clannad, old fate, angel beats
>the magic I felt watching entry level anime when I was new
Every time.

No,guess i am a premature boomer then.

I feel like it's gotten worse since the early 10's.
Like there was a shift in gears, back then more shows relied on characterization, while nowadays everything seems to center around concept, i fucking hate it.

Better than 07-10, still not as good as 11-13, better than 14-16.

2010s > 2020s > 2000s

>mfw there are newfags on Yas Forums who refuse to watch anything before 2020s garbage

It really went downhill some time after 2013. What exactly changed in the industry from the mid 10s onwards?

Objectively, it has gotten much better, Only retards will argue otherwise.
