I've never seen this and want to watch it. Someone told me it has a bunch of filler stuff vs the manga. Is it still worth watching?

why not just read the manga then?

I only watched most of the first season but the filler wasnt bad.

Most of the filler is recap episodes that you can just skip when you see them. They don't do gimmicks like starting the episode with new content so you'll know right away.

YOU WA SHOCK

yeah its fucken sick

If you can't appreciate classic battle shounen because the modern stuff has soured the genre then you won't get your full mileage, but it's absolutely undeniable that it's one of the single manliest pieces of fiction ever written. If you can appreciate that then this is definitely a series you're doing yourself a favor to read/watch.
Also the quality of the anime specifically is about what you'd expect from 80's television animation, but that adds to the charm in a way you won't see nowadays.

Ever seen Baki the grappler or Kegan Ashburn? On the manliness scale these are one level above that in the insane category.

I don't really think it's worth watching, just listen to the soundtrack while you read the manga

It doesn't have filler, it has recap episodes, which are:
17, 41, 57, 78–82, 98, 105 and 109

I started watching this show a week ago, and have binged most of it. I'd recommend it.
Every villain having the same two-dimensional evil personality who underestimates Kenshiro gets dull pretty fast, but the ridiculous violence makes up for it.
