I have read the manga. I think it's doable. I remember some people posting hypothetical episode breakdowns last year after season 2, and some of them looked pretty good. Though it would've been perfect if Bones just didn't rush season 2.
Either way, I'd be more than fine with a few OVAs for the Broccoli, Alien, ??? arcs.

Even though I enjoyed season 2 just as much as season 1, if not more so, I can't deny Bones had to rush the story in some places. The Mogami story was cut drastically, though I didn't mind it that much. The only thing that I didn't like was how rushed the Claw arc was, which was pretty much episode 9-13. Lots of dialogue and character interactions were cut/altered and it ended up making the last arc seem more generic than it was in the manga in my opinion.
