How do people still give a damn about battle shounen. It's among the most trite, overused, soulless genre in media history. It's what ubisoft-tier sandboxes are to games or the superhero genre is to movies and western comics.
I get watching a few of the classics but how the people still get excited for things like Boku no Hero, Black Clover or Kimetsu no Yaiba in this day and age.

Battle shounen used to be consistently great before the era of One Piece, Naruto and Bleach. These three manga/anime ruined the demographics and focus of battle shonen for the worse and we still feel the irreparable repercussions today.

It's really just team sports that becomes a breeding ground for douchery, people get in a tight-knit group and they start to feel invincible. It's much less prevalent in 1v1 sports because there's always going to be someone ready to hand your ass to you. Wrestlers, who by all rights should be the most capable of headlocking you and tossing you in the trash are consistently among the most chill people I've met.
