I just started watching JoJo and I'm halfway through the 3rd part, and I'm really disliking the whole "stands" thing, i liked it when it was so much more simple of a power when people had "Hamon" and some people didn't, and the people that had it had to undergo training to get it, but with this new stand stuff it;s feeling like people just get it now from ancestry. I feel like the characters themselves don't matter anymore and the real characters are the stands and to me that just means JoJo himself is just another person and his power is the really important one which stops making it feel like JoJo.
The best part about stands is that when used at the right time any stands can be overpowered but at the same time every stand has a weakness so there's never any stupid dragon ball z shit where every villain is stronger than the last, instead you just get into a very unique situation where you have to use tour head anw wit to win
Austin Collins
stands get better. the first half of part 3 is bad.
Elijah Cooper
I think thats a natural reaction, stands are really poorly introdused and have some really boring powers at the beginning. But you will start to apreciate then later on when the rules about range get solidfied and powers start to get more unique
Cooper Robinson
stands add variety. hamon was utilized to its extreme with Joseph.
Luke Gomez
Too bad the execution sucks and most fights either end with an asspull or anti-climatically
William Gutierrez
Honestly if by the end of the part 3 you still don't like stands you should really end at the part 3, since it finishes whole story nicely and later part s can be considered "expansions"
Jeremiah Morales
Part 1 finishes the whole story nicely
Owen Garcia
But OP said he didn't like stands because they require no training and weren't simple like hamon. Stands becoming more unique with solidified range rules have nothing to do with his complaints, your post reads like an automated NPC response and not someone actually trying to discuss the topic at hand.
Austin Perez
Star Platinum punching shit is satsifying in the anime but I agree it gets boring when the majority of fights are just Jotaro and Polnareff trying to hit people
Eli Walker
Stands blow dick
Asher Davis
I didn't like them at the beggining either but eventually they become good and more interesting than hamon (which peaked with Joseph in part 2, I mean you literally can't have a stronger villain than Kars if only Hamon exists). Especially the last fight of part 3. Try to avoid spoilers tho. >I feel like the characters themselves don't matter anymore and the real characters are the stands That's just in part 5 and that's the worst part
Colton Reed
I actually didn't read the post just saw that another person did not like stands, and yeah this was kind of an automated response based on experience. Sorry about that
Luis Phillips
I mean we still didn't knew what happend to Suzi and to the children.
Hudson Rivera
No one cares about them
Asher Cook
based hairposter
Hunter Wood
Fuck that coffin asspull. Part 2 wraps up the story perfectly.
Logan Miller
Part 2 is filler
Michael Baker
This
Isaiah Nelson
Part 3 stands are basic as all hell, later parts is where araki flexes his brain to come up with entertaining stuff.
Adam Watson
The characters also improve after part 3.
Christian Diaz
lol no
Michael Myers
Part 5 has the best cast of all Jojo. 7 doesn't count because it's only a duo.
Jackson Nelson
CAST RANKING 3 > 2 > 1 > 5 > 4 > 6
Parker Young
You don't need to have stronger villains every time, I stopped at part 3 but know the next parts are about investigating crimes and the mafia etc, if the plot is well written it can easily be done with more down to earth abilities and weaker villains
Cameron Baker
That’s strange because 5 has the worst cast of all time
Luke Robinson
They're a good concept executed poorly.
Dominic Richardson
Every rule about stands is broken eventually
Ayden Turner
This. Remember when in the first episode of Part 3 when stands were introduced Avdol stops Star Platinum from coming out by not allowing Jotaro to breathe, since Stands much like Hamon are based on breathing techniques
Justin Wright
>another newfag to the series complaining about what has been a staple of the series since before he was born
Charles Peterson
Blood vibrations beats ninja psychic fights, you may not like it but that's simply a fact.
Kevin James
Part 3 basically sucks until Egypt and even after that there are some stinkers, but hamon could not have lasted six more parts after Joseph and remain interesting whereas stands are perfect for remaining interesting as a magic system. Just keep watching. If you don’t like and really really really want a stand by part 4 then you might never. Part 7 has the best stands though.
Carson Scott
Araki completely ran out of good ideas for stands in part 7. Only D4C is good.
Jayden Allen
Part two is the most separate from the overall story until part five. Not saying it’s not extremely entertaining, but the ending is kinda meh
Parker Carter
i felt the same way when i started part 3 but i warmed up to it by the end of part 3 - part 1. theres really only so much you can do with hamon
Jack Phillips
Jojo is really hit or miss for me. I liked the first few episodes with Dio before he turned into a vampire. Then it got fucking boring for a while. But after Dio's death and the second Jojo appeared, it got good again.
Elijah Parker
Sorry but I think you have that mixed up with part 8
Jackson Lewis
>this user doesn’t like someone climbing to the roof to activate his stand
