Nope, Yami Bakura will always be the worst part of Yu Gi Oh. His only saving grace is his tabletop RPG gimmick.

Good villains need credibility to feel like a legitimate threat and losing nearly every fight you’ve ever been in doesn’t look very good, especially when you’re supposed to be the MAIN villain

It was weird that they didn't localize Bakura's name in the 4kids dub. Also seeing bishonen at such a young age made me feel.. things.

He was a fusion of Zorc and Thief King but was ultimately his own character. Most of his objectives was about fusing back with the rest of Zorc anyway. Thief King was his own separate character.

This is a complete joke. Yami Bakura is by far the most obvious cheater in the entire manga and takes huge pride in this. The joke is that even with his bullshit endless criticals or god mode powers he *still* got schooled by Yugi several times (both Atem and the actual Yugi) and was even destroyed by other characters. Marik on the other hand never actually abused any rules, he just had an absolutely broken card he knew to exploit correctly.

As far as card games Bakura outplayed Yami Yugi before he top decked Slifer for the win in battle city and had complete control of the match against Marik before he got fucked by Ra because he didn't know about it's OTK potential from the grave, I think regular Yugi outplayed him in the end in the next arc but I can't remember the details.
