Admit it, it was kino
JoJo OVA
It was
The DIO fight in the OVA is the definitive version
It only started being kino when they entered the mansion
If you are a teen maybe
This
The Dio fight is kino, everything else varies from pretty good to meh
>Wow this old shitty, stale animation has so much soul
Soul vs Soulless
...
Left doesn't even look like Polnareff.
You didn't watch the OVA right? The animation was less "stale" than the newer version.
>Silver Chariot
>not even silver
>mfw
>Za warudo
>not the world
>Star Platinum
>isn’t even a star
>isn’t even platinum
if anything it's the recent one that looks dull and has lacking animation
They did some pretty fantastic shit with how they showed different powers
I loved those shots where DIO and Jotaro are just staring each other down and shit just starts breaking from The World's time stop, but we see it in real time
The OVA is the best version because it cuts out all the filler.
at least it doesn't overstay its welcome. pacing is pretty tight
>old animation shit bros
>older animation literally has a better colour scheme and style
The faster pace works wonders for JoJo
In the new anime they stretch out everything
What would be cutting out even more filler would be the group reaching Egypt and fighting Dio unopposed.
It's not.
Then what is?
Search Dio and Jotaro on nhentai for what could have been if Araki didn't drop the initial headcanon
Only r*dditfags and their shitty memes think it's bad. The OVA is the superior way to watch part 3. Cel coloring, fluid animation instead of stiff shit, and less shitty filler enemies.
>le bad dub xDDD
>le it's an enemy stand xDD
Anyone who mentions those is a fucking faggot
Lots of scenes were better there than in the anime. Also Dio's voice actually represents an evil sadistic villain rather than a cool villain.
Honestly even if you put aside stuff like animation or art style, just the sequence of events is better in the OVA. The scene where Polnareff attacks DIO is pointless in the manga but the OVA makes it into a somewhat heroic moment for him.
It has some things I like and some things I don't. Overall I thought it did the N'Doul fight better, even if it was very similar. D'Arby works fine in one episode, but I think the TV anime adapted it better. Having a full episode to Jotaro's poker match was the better call. Dio's castle was fine for having to cut a lot of content to fit the episode count. Kakyoin's entrance is much better in the OVA. Jotaro vs Dio has some better and some worse. It cut the magnet trick, which personally is one of my favorite parts. Jotaro having been punched early and using a wooden splint, and having that protect him from knives is much better than the fuckin magazines/manga. I don't care for Star Platinum automatically working in stopped time. I think it's better for Dio to say their stands are similar, prompting Jotaro to attempt moving during stopped time. And this is where the magnet trick really works, it's a fantastic ruse to get a solid hit on Dio. And of course, that 90's OVA quality. Fantastic animation all the way through. The only thing I would nitpick on is that the younger characters look hella old. If you told me Jotaro was supposed to 40 I'd believe it if I didn't already know better.
It works just fine for what it is, a 6 episode adaption of the latter half of Stardust Crusaders. The biggest sin is that it can't viewed on its own. It's better now with the 2000 series to make a complete, yet shortened story, but before that released this would have been almost unwatchable without having read JoJo beforehand.
8/10
I agree, in the anime him stabbing DIO changes nothing, while in the OVA his stab allows Jotaro to hit him with a suprise attack
