>Wing
If your standards are that low, you won't have any problem.

Despite its faults, I liked Iron Blooded Orphans. Combat and designs were decent, like how we got a look at how a PMC would actually operate

Tallgeese is so awesome it makes up for most of Wing's flaws.

First three episodes of Fafner Beyond were just a few months ago.

No, it doesn't.
But it's a sexy design for sure, too bad it gets replaced by the Epyon piece of shit.

Granbelm? Shinkalion? Any of the dozens of them that come out every year?

You've got some serious implications going on here, bud. You say this as if Wing sits somewhere near the body of mecha anime, as if so many works in the genre are truly great, when in reality there's maybe 10 of them that are truly great (and 2 of those are NGE and EoE), maybe another 20 or so that are legitimately good, and then everything else ranges from garbage to mediocre. Wing is bad, but it's definitely sitting near the top of the bad pile.

>evafag
lol, I don't even consider that trash mecha

>Vulvarape and Buddy Complex aired almost 10 years ago

Fafner: Exodus/Fafner: The Beyond in 2015/2019, but Fafner is considered an exception, not the standard.

>CGI mecha
>hirai face
No.

Shinkalion is pretty nice. Not a shotacon.

>Iron Blooded Orphans
>Combat and designs were decent

mecha Design was pretty good, battle were
definitely too much polluted with limited animation views.

Like in episode 1 that you don't see Barbatos spinning the club, you only see a glimpse of the club that hits the enemy.

Six isn't almost ten, you can't fool me.

Wing is awful, user. Like one of my least favorite Gundam easily.

The only thing I remember about this was the purple-tier girl being way better than pink ribbons girl and getting shafted by the plot, and also the dolphin in a jetpack.

Pretty ironic you're so proud of calling the genre shit yet defends Wing. Pretty sure the problem is your garbage taste here.
Wing isn't on top of any pile. No need to compare it to every mecha, or every real robot anime, or even every Gundam series. Compare it to others Gundam AU series: G is better, X is better, Turn A is (obviously) better, 00 S1 (let's stop there) is better,...

Massive pleb like you probably doesn't like Majestic Prince either.
Go away.

Sidonia

People only hate Hiraiface because Gundam Seed was fucking awful and people associate Hirai's designs with Seed since Seed is borderline iconic, most mecha with Hirai face are great (Infinite Ryvius, Fafner, Heroic Age, Majestic Prince)

How many mecha anime have such amazing cetacean characters?

Yeah, some of the actual animation was lacking, but I enjoyed how it showed some of the (relatively) large scale battles and combined use of Mobile Workers, recruiting, training, etc.

Also, Space Guts was great and had an enjoyable character arc.

There was also Linebarrels, that was pretty infamously terrible for a while.

Fafner is still going on so no.

Fafner Beyond and Gundam The Origin. If you're talking about new IP, then I don't know.

I wish I could post an image of the ESPer dolphins in ZKC seeking political asylum for the hell of it, but I've lost it.

Honestly the Hiraiface actually becomes a positive after the original and the prequel

I liked Knights of Sidonia.

Sidonia went downhill in a hurry once Nihei stopped giving a fuck and turned it into a harem manga.

Why are traditional energetic super robot shows so dead? The most notable thing in the genre in the last decade was Nymphoqueer and it didn't even have true giant robots.

They just aren't making new mecha series anymore.

Sunrise used to at least attempt some non-Gundam mecha stuff in between and around their usual Gundam fare, but even they seemed to have given up and are just focusing on gundam and idols.

It's by no means my favorite Gundam series, but it was way better than anything else Gundam that came out last decade/decade and a half.
I loved the fact that they left destroyed mechs lying where they fell rather than blowing up completely.

MJP season 2 never.

the genre peaked with code geass

I liked it a lot, but some of the Gauna fight scenes were so busy and the shading was so dark, I literally couldn't tell what was going on (although maybe the scans I were looking at were shit)

But Granbelm was great.

Shinkalion? Zoids? Tomica?
Thery're making tons of it, you're just not paying attention.

The fifth chapter of Jinrouki Winvulga has been translated.
It has everything that everyone likes. Girls piloting mechas, girls being ryona'd, girls being raped by evil hetero rapist soldiers, girls being forced to lesborape each another for the pleasure of the evil dudes, hot-blooded mecha on mecha action, and hot-blooded guy on girl action.
Shame stuff like that won't get an anime adaptation.

I liked the designs and general concept of the series, the plot made no sense though, especially in the movie
>get rid of gundams because treize is dead and war will never happen again
>war happens again, we need the gundams!!!
>get rid of the gundams because dekim is dead and war will never happen again
