Isekai is a good a example. And "The Croc will die in 100 days" is a recent example, though it had a mediocre plot, the idea of execution was something new. But other authors started stealing it as soon as it got popular.

Easy, they should create more anime with the same feel / passion the 80's and 90's had, bigger seasons and tone down the fan service (of any kind) a little bit.

Anime nowadays is too focused on giving people what they want to watch, with some added eye candy, instead of coming up with new / original things, which, I admit, isn't that easy in this day and age.

Cyberpunk was as much of a follow-the-leader glut as current trends are.

Literally all Yas Forums talks about is waifus, lolis, and haremshit.

The industry is stagnated because most mangaka are trying to play it safe.
Usually, the good anime take risks and are completely different from the rest, like Steins;Gate, Attack on Titan, Fate/Kaleid Prisma Illya, or Death Note. Bad anime are generic, forgettable, and don't do anything new, like Re:Zero, The Rising of Shield Hero and Your Name.

Imo they need to encourage creativity more. Encourage mangaka, light novel artists, and anime studios to come up with something new or original.
