Multiple layers. Some still have some fond memories, but when you think about, with the lack of slice of life, no matter which chapters you like from 1235, it doesn't fucking lead to anything. The ending is another can of worms.

Whichever Quint was chosen is fine, what will haunt Toubun is that the last major arc, The School Festival, was weak to the point where skipping some of the more redundant chapters takes nothing from the experience and the arc before it wasn't great either.
So the sore losers and people just in it to be entertained will have a point against the dogs that claim to enjoy anything that is familiar to them.
