In this order
Japanese Department of Cultural Affairs names the best anime ever
The same people who voted Eva #1 here, also voted Princess Mononoke as the best anime of 1997 with Eva coming in 2nd. So techinically they are tied here
that's a pretty good 4x4
specifically pink jacket lupin?
>laputa instead of Conan
yikes
Lupin 3
This is a great list.
I would be tempted to put a Kyoani show in there, but it might draw too much flak from the other studios.
>Lupin
Hell yes
If Castle in the Sky didn't have romance it would be the best Ghibli film after Nausicaa
Best Ghibli film is Mimi wo Sumaseba
Fight me
NGE's popularity makes me so fucking mad. Such a steaming pile of shit has absolutely no right to be compared to any of those other works.
>6 Ghibli movies
Too much. Keep Nausicaa, Totoro, and maybe Mimi wo Sumaseba. Drop Mononoke, Kiki, and Porco Rosso.
Add 1st season Ranma (or Urusei Yatsura?), Sailor Moon, Haruhi S1.
It's like FF7, except instead of people only remembering the first 4 hours of FF7, they only remember the final 4 episodes of Eva and forget the rest of schlock in the show
How about we drop the Shonen trash and add Utena & Lain instead?
AOTD 2010's is missing.
>add Utena
Not a bad ide-
>& Lain
Nice try bud
No Sazae-San? It’s literally the longest-running anime ever!
We already have Cardcaptor at #20, we don't need other Magical Girl shit
It's like the Simpsons. Nobody has cared about it for 15 years.
Would take Conan or Chibi Maruko-chan for long running series.
Kyoani=moe
Moe=tasteless waifufags pandering
What the fuck.
How is gundam there but macross not? But then again the fucking jp ministry of education cant even romanize their language properly, so why should I expect them to be educated on anime.
Time for the third nuke
Doesn’t it get top ratings each episode?
Gundam is not only good in its own right (unlike macross which is so shit it had to be rebranded into robotech to become profitable) but it also revolutionized fiction as we know it
Here's the full top 35 without duplicates
I've seen far worse out of Japan, but in general I hold movies in lower regard so I'd drop a number of them, along with a few others. There's just too much Ghibli on this list and GitS didn't need to be listed twice even if they're different versions.
OK, I get it. Give Miyazaki an ego stroke so he stops thinking his life was a "mistake".
It's a good list, but they can add to it later so Miyazaki doesn't feel dragged down to the level of the current stuff that he hates.
>worst shitkai
what were they thinking
> 10 Ghibli''s
Acceptable
> No Kiki
What the fuck, why?
I can understanding including at least one piece of LN tripe, but no Ideon or Char's Counterattack? Whomever put this list together is a fag
>revolutionized fiction as we know it
How so? Im not too familiar with Gundam, but you've piqued my curiosity.
I loved Kamichu, but surprised to see it on there.
Need to include Haibane Renmei somewhere. Sad to see both Yoshitoshi ABe and Makoto Shinkai excluded.
I know his movies are bland & forgettable but Shinkai is indeed included
Kiki = Row 1, Column 4, right?
Ghibli girls tend to look the same.
Kiki is the one riding the broom stick
>All these old-ass anime
And people say anime isn't in a dark age.
wrong
Haruhi S2 > Haruhi S1
Lain is a masterpiece
Nausicaa>Chihiro>Laputa>Mononoke>Lupin3>Totor>Fireflies
Can we all agree on this?
I think they were looking for classic shows which could be run on a loop at a museum or international exhibition as representative of Japan without offending anyone.
>Haruhi S2 > Haruhi S1
>Endless Eight
uh.. no
WHERE IS TOWER OF KINO AND SOUL ART ANIMATION???
Overall fairly good list, but pink jacket Lupin is worst Lupin...
> Kamichu
Explain this one then
>the only pic of Dola is the portrait from when she was younger
that's criminal
based
Japan doesn't mind slightly offending people about religion.
>doraemon but no astro boy
Didn't japs adore the 2003 series?
