Gundam is not only good in its own right (unlike macross which is so shit it had to be rebranded into robotech to become profitable) but it also revolutionized fiction as we know it

I've seen far worse out of Japan, but in general I hold movies in lower regard so I'd drop a number of them, along with a few others. There's just too much Ghibli on this list and GitS didn't need to be listed twice even if they're different versions.

It's a good list, but they can add to it later so Miyazaki doesn't feel dragged down to the level of the current stuff that he hates.
