I can tell you which one is better. Major. At least if we're talking the original series, even though 2nd is showing signs of vast improvement it's not necessarily at the original's level and I don't know that it has the potential to be.

The original series also went on for an entire 78 volumes and had 6 anime seasons, a movie, and multiple OVAs. While DnA has had a comparable amount of episodes now (and less volumes overall), getting that many seasons for any one series is very uncommon.
Compared to witnessing the entire baseball career of Goro, DnA feels like a slow exercise in frustration even if it has its own merits such as more technical and realistic baseball.
