I'm fucking tired of "I got transported to another world!" shows where the protagonist arrives and gets overpowered right away. Here's a hint you stupid Japanese fucks. The fish out of water story is about a person who initially finds themselves disadvantaged and confused by new surroundings, but then as they learn more about their new situation they turn their unique perspective to advantage and eventually overcome overwhelming odds. That's apparently not good enough for the kind of mouthbreather that watches isekai though, every protagonist always starts as the most powerful being in their universe, it's like starting New Vegas at level 50 with all the guns, what's the fucking point? So we watch our protagonist just blow the fuck out of everyone without even trying, Ainz from Overlord is a particularly bad example, like he's constantly giving his subordinates orders and I'm sitting here drunk off my ass wondering what it matters since Ainz is a walking human nuke, fuck raising defenses (and by the way he tells them to do that like 30 times an episode) just let the enemy walk on in it will take him like 10 seconds to kill them all if he wants. I'm pretty sure that he's only giving orders so the average weeb who self inserts as him and has never and never will give a subordinate an order can fantasize about what it's like, but for anyone with enough charisma to order their own goddamn coffee the orders and their responses have all the authenticity of a porn star claiming she's cumming from giving a titjob.

But the absolute worst piece of shit is In another world with my smartphone, holy fuck everyone involved in this should kill themselves. Oh yeah hey protagonist you not only have your smartphone and everyone wants to fuck you, you're also faster and stronger too because why not? I used to enjoy nip comedy like daily lives of highschool boys, gintama and seto no hanayome, while shunning all western cartoons. But after my gf sat me down and forced me to watch family guy and rick&morty, I just can't enjoy Japanese humour again. It's just so crude, made for low IQ folks and nonsensical.

People who say ironically that Toradora is the greatest love story ever told. It unironically is an amazing love story. Let's compare it to Romeo and Juliet:

The love story in Romeo and Juliet is romance at its most superficial and one-dimensional. There's no substance or depth or chemistry in the interactions between the two main characters. They exchange cliche love dialogue which mostly consists of them adoring each other's good looks.The basis for the attraction Romeo has to Juliet is that she's a generically handsome and polite young girl. Yet, it is implied that there is a deeper emotional connection between the two that has never been established because they barely even know each other.

Toradora, on the other hand, is the greatest love story ever told. I can't think of any other work of fiction in which two lovers fit together as well as Taiga and Ryuuji. The flaws of one character are perfectly complemented by the strengths of the other. Ryuujifs practicality and low-key attitude is the perfect yin to Taigafs abrasive, loud, and fiercely liberal spiritfs yang. Each finds comfort in the other as well, as Ryuujifs paternal instincts being a support to Taiga, whofs family life is nonexistent, and her consequences-be-damned attitude liberates Ryuuji from the pressure of having to always act so mature.

I think that the only reason why garbage like Romeo and Juliet is still regarded with such reverence is because of historic, rather than artistic, reasons. It was highly influential in the past. Therefore, it must be great art. It certainly was influential, but it's still a superficial love story which Shakespeare actually stole from people like William Painter and Arthur Brooke.
