Would you watch a Jigoku Shoujo spinoff that was less episodic?

Yes, but it doesn't need to be a plot related to just her job.

Definitely. I wouldn't mind if it was something dramatic and tragic like the ending arc of Futakomori, or something more light-hearted.
I really didn't mind the episodic nature, in fact that was why I picked it up in the first place, but with the great characters it established, a more plot-driven series would work great.

Yeah, agreed. I'm thinking like, instead of changing the victims every episode, we just stick with the same crowd.

>Want to watch this since hime cut girl are my thing
>Last season is said to be bad

No because JS benefits from an episodic format.

Watch the first 2 seasons.

Light-hearted would be nice.

Last season was 6 episodes long, then 6 pseudo-reboot/recap episodes of the previous seasons.
You're fine watching the first 2-3 seasons then deciding from there.
The main appeal is Ai, the supporting characters, and the OST/atmosphere. If you really can't stand episodic/repetetive shows, think twice.

So why AI work as hired assassin? Isn't that cheating.

Imagine the first 2/3 of the episode being lighthearted, but the last 1/3 they pull the rug out from underneath you when tragedy strikes, and you realize the subtle hints were there the whole time, buried under saccharine bliss.

No such a thing as eternal punishment because everyone made mistakes. Even agent 47 can get redemption from sins.

New Season when

>When you get sent to Jiguku by some sperg but you've lived a virtuous life by Buddhist standards so you're immediately released.
Serves him right for not reading up on the lore.

If I remember correctly, she can choose to stop at any time, it's just that the spider shimigami will do something with her loved ones or something.

>by some sperg
I wonder who that could be

Contact her to punish someone, but after meeting her you no longer care about that person that much as long as you can see her more.

I remember in Futakomori she saved that boy when she wasn't supposed to, and I thought that was when Spiderbro extended her service from 400 years or something to indefinitely, and she lost her corporeal body. Been planning on reading the manga, dunno if it covers the same events but if so, it should elucidate the nature of her contract.

But then you'd be trapping Hone Onna/Moku/Wanyuudou/Waro waro in your desk draw. They wouldn't like that.

That is a problem, but I wonder if a deal could be worked out to let them go in exchange for her voluntarily visiting.

Or you could pretend to be Yamawaro and infiltrate the gang like that. Kikuri's dumb, she wouldn't even notice.
I'd give up this life to chill with the Jigoku Shoujo posse for the rest of time.

>Well why sent innocent people into Hell anyway.
Because you're trading comfort in life for suffering in the afterlife. It doesn't matter if the person you cursed with the doll gets out immediately because this is Shinto-Buddhist afterlife so getting out means being reincarnated.

Enma Ai in nothing at all.

That would be a good life.

Isnt this a original Anime ?

Enma Ai in work clothes.

Yes, I believe so. There are some manga too, I think the first manga/anime came out at the same time, though.

Aren't victims get teleported in the Hell and without dieing, means if they wouldn't eat food in the hell they are should be fine.

Ai-chan is a puchimas now.

Attached: Puchi Ai.jpg (1400x1400, 658.25K)

The show doesn't give us enough information to determine whether they keep their corporal bodies or not. Honestly I don't think it makes much of a difference because none of the cursed people ever come back anyways. Being spirited away by AI is in effect the same as dying. I don't know whether eating the food would keep them there or not. It's not the neutral afterlife plane of Yomi. But even if it did, the whole purpose of jigoku is to make particularly wicked souls endure punishment so they can become pure enough to reincarnate again, so if you're not a bad person you have no reason to be there and will almost certainly be reincarnated quickly.

Basically AI is ripping off mortals. She can send them to the afterlife but if they haven't done anything wrong they'll just be released by the demons who run things down there.

I would watch an entire series that consists of "Ippen, shinde miru" on a loop

I found a rare Jigoku Shoujo reference in a Nanoha manga the other day.

I don't even watch that much anime, but at least once a year i watch the 3 seasons (recently 4th because the last season), i don't know even why i do it, but i love the one history per episode thing and Emma plot happening slowly between episodes. I would watch it? Sure. But probably i would prefer the format of the 3 seasons.

That's dedication.
I watched all 4 seasons in a row, one episode per night. It was relaxing that way.

what happened to her dad

Attached: Tsugumi_Shibata_(Hell_Girl).png (1920x1080, 1.44M)

All I remember is that he published the Jigoku Shoujo Guidebook then went missing.

I lol'd

Well, she isn't a little girl anymore, so being attached with her dad 24/7 would be weird. Her and Emma had little random encounters so it would be hard to her dad be there in the moment and Emma had nothing to do with him so there's no supernatural motive directly attached to him.

it was nice seeing her as an adult in the recent seasons, i'm glad she seems to have found some measure of peace helping the elderly

Never knew there was a live action adaptation

I was a bit surprised, too, but it did get 4 seasons after all.
