I've actually only reached the Android/Cell arc now after having read the manga first.
Not sure it was in the original DBZ but so far in Kai they've pushed Krillin as more cowardly in the anime and skipped the couple of bits where he had wanted to at least hear the androids out first or try to talk them down rather than just charge in and getting their asses handed to them.
