Can we talk for a moment about how cancerous seasonal anime is ?
Show releases. Show is popular for two months. Show is forgotten.
It's like people don't care about watching good shows , they just care about being part of the anime "fandom" and talking to thier "friends" about the latest hottest memes . It's come to the point where the sole factor determining whether an anime succeeds or not is it's meme potential.
Man, do you really expect me to talk about eight billion series in equal portion forever? You talk about it while it's on your mind and then move on unless you really really liked it.
Nicholas Nelson
Senko who ?
James Johnson
OH GOD A NEW CUTE SEASONAL WAIFU
MUST BUY MUST BUY MUST BUT MUST
MUST
CONSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Jaxon Sanders
Reminder: your favorite anime was once seasonable garbage.
Noah Bell
ye I miss long series or at least show that they are interested in making another season Fucking hate studio that decide to adapt a series then forget about it and ruin a chance for another studio to do it
Most of the time the studio is commissioned, user.
Owen James
Is there any medium in existence that does not have an equivalent system? Where new things release and become popular and then fade away constantly.
Luis Walker
>seasonal anime Can you define it in a way that doesn't include basically everything but kids' shows? Most kids shows are still long. Most long shows were always kids shows. 2 cour shows are a lot less common though. Also studios don't have any control over that, stop being retarded.
Jose Clark
Every good show was a seasonal anime at one point retard.
Jeremiah Clark
The only "good" anime in the 21th century are Studio Ghibli films. All seasonal anime is trash.
Samuel Flores
That's just how it succeeds overseas, which doesn't really matter to them.

>Can we talk for a moment about how cancerous seasonal anime is ? Not until you first tell me what the fuck show doesn't air seasonally except straight to DVD releases and/or theatrical releases.
William Williams
Not an answer in the form of "medium", but of genre: "The Classics". Greek mythology being a prime example, but "mythology" in general being a good answer, perhaps "religion".
Caleb Bailey
>cancerous seasonal anime every anima was seasonal once >huur but they weren't cancer that's just you shitty opinion
Noah Richardson
"Classics" isn't a genre you stupid faggot. And the only reason they don't have the same problem is because that problem happened to them hundreds of years ago.
Who the fuck gives a shit about how other people consume anime? What fucking 'anime fandom' are you talking about? If I watch something and I like it, I will remember it. That's all there is to it. If you think that partaking in some 'fandom' is an essential part of watching anime, to the point where you're bothered by said fandom, you're doing something wrong. Not to mention that everything I ever liked has always sold like shit even if it got some cult following or was praised later down the line. tl;dr water is wet, who cares
Nathaniel Phillips
Eizouken was pretty successful in bringing long lasting hot racial debate to Yas Forums. Maybe all shows should do that.
Daniel Campbell
It's the acceptance of anime on social media that bothers you, my friend. Everybody's tired of the "don't lewd the dragon loli" tier maymays.
Aiden Diaz
Obviously most anime were seasonal at one point. The season structure is just cancer in general though imo. Like some other anons were saying a lot of studios pick something up to adapt, shit out 12 episodes, and then move onto something else. And 12 episode originals are hardly any better. It's rare that a studio actually makes any good use of that time and I think forcing everything to be 12 episodes stifles creativity. It isn't a concrete rule because some anime go longer or shorter (though for longer it's usually just another 12 episodes) but for 99% of shows it's a requirement.
Mason Peterson
>Who the fuck gives a shit about how other people consume anime? I do , if more people cared about good shows than consooming whatever fox lady "i'm pretty sure this is hentai" isekai maymay of the month than more good shows will be made.
If everyone keeps consuming seasonal garbage than only seasonal garbage will be made.
David Sanchez
>studios pick something up to adapt, shit out 12 episodes, and then move onto something else No they don't. Try actually learning basic shit about the industry before you whine about it like a bitch.
Hudson Richardson
>everyone should like what I like so they would make more anime that I like stop posting already you fucking imbecile
Jordan Scott
>It's like people don't care about watching good shows , they just care about being part of the anime "fandom" and talking to thier "friends" about the latest hottest memes .
I'm sure this is true for some people, user, but hear me out: you may like some seasonal anime and yet not engage in all those social aspects that you mentioned. Seasonal anime isn't cancerous, but people are social animals and mob mentality is indeed pretty cancerous.
Brandon Davis
The Japanese have unfathomably shit taste, and they are the primary market for anime unfortunately.
Ryder Sanders
Lurk for at least two years before posting on Yas Forums.
Jose Roberts
> they are the primary market that would be china
Jeremiah Mitchell
Exactly , because i like good shows , and i don't watch shows because of le hahha funny dragon loli maymay , hahha vampire loli
Adrian Bailey
If everyone always bought my favorite anime instead of the one I don't like, I too would be much happier. The point is that it won't happen no matter how much you care.
Thomas Hill
Is this the Senko thread?
Connor Taylor
>seasonal garbage >seasonal garbage >seasonal garbage Every show is seasonal.
Austin Parker
imagine punching senko chan in the liver
Jaxon Stewart
>Exactly , because i like good shows Please, post the shows that you consider good then
Jack Russell
Imagine eating Senko's nutritious liver to avoid starvation in your time of need.
Ayden Butler
Wrong term, target audience is what I meant.
Leo Rodriguez
I would fluff her up.
Isaiah Long
I don't even watch currently airing anime anymore. I can't stand waiting a week between episodes. Every time a new anime season starts, while everyone else is chatting about the first episodes of the new anime, I'm the one getting excited to try out the shows from the last season.
Xavier Ramirez
user, seasonal system didn't exists on the 80s.
Jackson White
It's not about muh favorite anime, you fucking mongs
It's about people who consume objective shit , iseka , loli , hahha funny maymay shows . These show aren't art , they might as well be made by a computer , they have no message and they are targeted at filthy otaku neets , and Yas Forumsermin. Any show that uses otaku tropes , is garbage and those are always popular and they keep being made. I don't like Steins gate but i would take 1000x steins gate over the next popular maymay show.
Devilman crybaby was pretty good.
Christopher Lewis
That's an excellent strategy, user. I may follow one or two currently-airing shows if I fall in love with them but I too dread the one-week wait between episodes. Watching one episode per day of a show you like is a much more enjoyable pace.
Chase Davis
Only makes them yearly garbage
Jace Butler
>Devilman crybaby >liking le hahaha edge funny running man Man, if only more people cared about good shows and not consooming whatever netflix garbage maymay of the month than more good shows would be made
Are you saying that full adaptations of manga are a common thing these days? Because from what I can see they're not. And even when they do happen (or more like when you end up with a second or third season) you end up waiting over a year between seasons which is also shit.
Jonathan Long
My sides

Can we talk for a moment about how cancerous faggots who say "seasonal anime" are ?
Shows are constantly releasing. >hurr durr not watching anything this season where are my ebin manime classics like bepop. Shows are watched and enjoyed by people who aren't insecure faggots
It's like these faggots don't care about watching anime, they just care about being part of the safe, socially acceptable western anime "community" and talking to "normalfags" about the latest hottest memes like Kimetsu no Yaiba. It's come to the point where the sole factor determining whether new anime will be watched by normalfags is it's meme potential.
>complains about shows targeted at Yas Forumsermin >likes Devilman Crybaby
Jacob Green
You're not smart man , Devilman is an adaptations of a 70s manga by an auteur artist. Don't compare it to your cringe " it's a show about gamers fucking monster girls hhhhha how did they get away with this one ?"
Robert Lopez
"Western anime" is the only anime worth giving a shit about , i am not some otaku filth weeb who watches shows targeted at other Japanese otaku filth. I don't watch shows so i can mastrubate to hentai of the characters .
I respect anime as an artistic medium , fuck you , you waste of oxygen filthy otaku neet.
>Devilman is an adaptations of a 70s manga by an auteur artist. That doesn't make it good >>Don't compare it to your cringe " it's a show about gamers fucking monster girls hhhhha how did they get away with this one ?" No idea what you're talking about but it sure sound better than cringeman crybaby
Jaxon Fisher
>hurr durr 90% of anime is trash >btw I respect anime as an artistic medium You can go back to Yas Forums any time now.
