it was too cool for school

It's ok to dress as you want, even if you want to dress like a stripper

You can dress like a whore and still be pure

it's about slutshaming, and the sengoku apparently

deeper meaning faggot fuck off

I really like the message or theme that someone can break rules and go against social order and still be a hero and a good person. A lot of anime characters seem to like the taste of boot polish so it's a nice to see an MC that actively rebels against society.

Female coming of age, what it means to be a person, the pressures of society on the individual, familial love is basically a super power

9/10 would watch again

Tits being hot, also punching being fun.

>it's a nice to see an MC that actively rebels against society.
What. Have you never tried, like, any delinquent manga? Just for the most obvious entire-genre example. Or the eight billion series featuring the MCs being literal rebels or terrorists?

That megacorporations are just a front for space aliens bent on world domination.

BAD UTENA+CH

The duality of humans

I thought it was just a cool show that slightly mimicked SA2.

The official answer is that it's about girls growing up, same as how TTGL was about boys growing up. Obviously there's a lot of details there, but the themes about her relationship with her clothes and her mom are very obvious elements.

The show isn't based on metaphors but puns.
>Lol fashion and fascism are very similar words in Japanase
Even the title is a pun.

Clothing is evil, and nudism is right.

what the actual fuck OP!
a show as a metaohor?
so you wanna tell me at any given time the Screen showed something it meant to be seen different.
how am i suppose to tell you the meaning of the whole show if nothing is really happening.
You wanna say i am stupid?

Aliens

How to make a shitty show and get praised for it anyway: The Slideshow.

There's no purer love than a love between a girl and her clothes.

Worth a watch or not

Yes.

Asses and titties are the lifeblood of anime.

Fate, the life fibers are the red string of fate. Ragyo/Nui/Junkestu/OLF represent slavery to fate, Satsuki/E4/The Nudist represent rejecting/fighting against fate, Ryuko/Senketsu represent choosing your own fate but also accepting what that entails.

These and the pressure of the media and society on young girls growing up, specifically on their bodies and the oversexualisation of them. Ragyo represents society forcing people to believe in an ideal body type and nudist beach are a rebel group that represent loving your own body

they probably just wanted to do some skimpy clothes and jiggly tiddies

Puberty and your first menstruation. Hence, you know, the blood.

Explain the lack of nipples then.

Something something metaphor for the sengoku era something something liberation

Pretty sure all that stuff is just symbolism rather than a metaphor

Gainax being better than Trigger

Good fap material desu

pretty much the opposite of slut shaming, if anything it poked fun at purityfags

Yeah it's about body empowerment and using your sexuality as a strength. People who dropped it because of ecchi unironically got filtered, and I don't use that term lightly

On of the early themes is about how women accept their sexual power. Ryuko is embarrassed. This prevents her from using her full power. Satsuki embraces her sexuality because it serves her goals.

They both get their power by bleeding into their clothing which is an obvious was to allude to a girl becoming a fertile woman with her period.

There is also discussion about the transformative aspect of clothing. Clothing evolves humanity per the show, but it also because a trap that conforms you. The rejection of clothing is linked with being true to yourself.

There is also possibly a direct jab at Japanese corporate culture. The main characters are literally fighting a corporation owned by their mother.

Finally, an overarching theme is the not letting power, success, or even depression mess you up, encapsulated by the theme “Don’t lose your way.” The main villain of course has an ego trip. Several characters lust after the power of the uniforms. Money nearly destroys an otherwise great family. Finally, Ryuko has to learn to control the wild emotions that come with her sexual power in order to use it effectively (back to theme one).

>The rejection of clothing is linked with being true to yourself

I don't agree with this because Ryuko herself rejects the idea of being naked, to her being herself means wearing Senketsu even if it's only in her heart. Choosing what it is that you want to wear instead of being forced into an outfit is what it means to be true to yourself in this show, even the nudist eventually rejoice that they are finally able to wear clothes in the end.

A girl's first period

Why wear that? That bra isn't even supporting her boobs

Ryuko has a Kiryuin body. Large cup on small band is less common if found at all in person and more expensive. She cut herself off from dad and his money so its possible she was just buying the cheapest shit available, hence why she only has two colors of undies and none of it fits properly.

are you a femoid? why do you know so much about bra logistics?
