It was the best anime of all time
Mason Gomez
Dominic Allen
not even Rumiko's best work
Evan Harris
Not even the best in toonami
Joshua Powell
Not even best Isekai
Jack Collins
That’s not Yokai Clan though
I’m honestly appalled at the lack of replies I get when I make Yokai Kino threads
Jackson Morales
My fav manga from Rumiko but like all her stuff, suffers from hundreds of chapters of padding.
Dylan Hernandez
Urusei Yatsura fan? or maybe Maison Ikkoku?
Austin Clark
I really don't see it as a coherent story with arcs and important plot points, but just some cozy background noise. A never ending adventure. If you've seen one episode of Inuyasha, you've seen them all.
Joseph Allen
Don't be a pleb user
Ian Perry
Elaborate.
Sebastian Edwards
KAGOMEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
Anthony White
>a coherent story with arcs
Why does everything need to be like that these days? Shows were better when you could watch any arbitrary episode and understand it. Like Sailor Moon or Cowboy Bebop. These days you get four episodes in and you don't even know if the show is any good yet because they still haven't done anything.
James Morris
Let me destroy this post with a better character from a better series.
Jordan Morris
The anime is a lot more repetitive than the manga.
Ryan Jackson
bees
Benjamin Butler
There's no character in your image.
John Mitchell
Cute plot device now, now where's that character user?
Isaac Parker
It gave me best girl of all time and my waifu, that it did.
Isaiah Green
It's just a different form of story telling. I think it can be good if you have something you're trying to say and need time to do it.
Matthew Lopez
I didn't like Kikyo when I was younger but she's grown on me as an adult. She seems wise and strong, versus Kagome who is annoying and whiney.
Matthew Powell
Patrician.
Adrian Sanchez
Fine.
Josiah Young
I've said it before and I'll say it again
Manga Kikyou/Sango > anime Kikyou/Sango
Joseph Allen
That's fairly understandable.
A character as complex as Kikyo shouldn't have been written for Shonenshit/Shoujoshit aimed at young teenagers.
I'm not really surprised a lot of fans are now coming out of the woodworks after growing up a little and suddenly see her in a new light, there's no way the original target audience would've been able to understand her properly, but I'm still glad more and more seem to realize her greatness lately.
Adam Brown
What's the difference between manga Sango to anime Sango?
Adam Butler
I agree but you can't start a good Inuyasha thread like this, all we'll get is shitposting
Nathan Miller
Personally, I noticed even back then that whenever Kikyo or Sesshomaru’s gang were on screen the tone would shift to be a lot more serious.
It was like watching the special olympics with Inuyasha’s group and then whenever they were on it switched to professional.
Ryder Parker
Discussion is good so far.
Aiden Kelly
She's more of a matured young woman, and caring older sister to Kagome. She also seemed to be more of Inuyasha's right hand. Kagome couldn't do much, Miroku was bee'd, and Shippo was useless. Sango could fight, heal, scout, and still maintain her beauty.
Hunter Morgan
So basically every female character was nerfed so Kagome would look better, with Kikyo being nerfed the most to the point of making her a straight up villain at the beginning. Gotcha.
Dominic Cook
They're the only ones who actually knew what they were doing.
Matthew Barnes
Basically. Kagome is just a little girl compared to Kikyou and Sango in the manga.
William Miller
It's kind of embarrassing how often they lost to Inuyasha and co. considering how silly and ragtag the whole gang was.
You'd never see either of these two screaming to power up.
Leo Long
Does that mean Inuyasha was rather young himself? It's a wonder Kikyo even fell in love with him considering how childish and immature he was. Or maybe it makes sense.. Maybe she needed him to level out how serious her life was.
Lucas Thomas
Agreed
Ryder Powell
Kikyo barely saw his childish side because around her Inuyasha was different, he was perfectly obedient and always protected her, and she herself was desperate for someone to relate to since she was so lonely.
Ian Evans
>muh miasma
>muh bees
>muh somehow develops a perfect counter every single time inuyasha upgrades his sword in some way
Justin Martin
Owen Cruz
Kagome gave me pleated miniskirt/school uniform fetish
Jacob Adams
I'd say he was toned down with her. Do you think Kagome brings the sillier side out of him?
Adrian Parker
Inuyasha plays off differently depending on what character he's interacting with, Kagome was a bitch, so he was a bitch too.
Jordan Myers
Well Inuyasha was about 15 in demon years so Kikyo was actually mentally older.
Gabriel Ward
kinda this, the only fans of kagome are teenager self-inserters girls now
Wyatt Scott
Again that just makes me wonder what the hell attracted her to him then.
Carter Bailey
And low T """men"""".
Austin Hall
He was literally the only one who could potentially understand her. She couldn't connect with anyone else because the villagers she protected were all normies.
That, and also keeping the Shikon no tama safe meant she couldn't ever have any impure thoughts so she probably didn't want to risk it with interacting too much with anyone.
Connor Hernandez
Yes, but outside of understanding her, outside of being an outcast... Did they really have anything in common? Could you see the two of them living a life together or even having a conversation?
Chase Jackson
>tfw no demon dog bf
Easton Lopez
I rather the genderbender version
Ayden Thompson
I really don't know if I'm honest with you.
I'm one of the people who thinks Kikyo's better off with someone like Sesshomaru, but I completely understand why she gravitated towards Inuyasha/what she found attractive about him.
Elijah Powell
same, user. Same
Aaron Miller
Yeah. Not trying to grill you, I just mean, all they ever say when they see each other is their names. And then they repeat the same conversation about how things used to be. Honestly even in the flashbacks, when they were together, it seemed they never properly talked about anything other than their relationship or their responsibilities/troubles.
Kikyo and Sesshomaru would be a cute couple and they make sense. Unfortunately the latter isn't into humans and the former isn't even particularly alive.
John Ramirez
I agree that it didn't seem to go any deeper than that, but then again Inuyasha and Kagome's conversation aren't deep in the slightest either, I'd say they're on the same level of depth if not less deep, simply because Kagome isn't a deep character.
Hilariously enough, the few time Inuyasha did have deep, meaningful conversations were with Sango.
Hudson Campbell
>Kikyo and Sesshomaru would be a cute couple
>cute
I’d shit my pants.
Julian Perry
Maybe she was his match all along. It does make sense, when you think about it. I never quite got her being paired with the dirty monk.
Jose Lopez
If you mean because they're both dangerous as shit and are willing to do terrible things to reach their goals, then yes.
Joshua Rivera
>it's a kagome is sad and jealous of kikyo episode
Blake Powell
I'm so glad I watched Inuyasha as a kid instead of Naruto.
I hate Shonen with a burning passion but Inuyasha will always have a place in my heart.
Wyatt Evans
They’re both stronger, deadlier and more autistic than anyone else, I wouldn’t wanna be near such raw power.
Gabriel Wilson
Same, user. It's such a nice part of my childhood. I'll always remember toonami, and those nights I stayed up watching anime on my big box tv with the clunky remote and a handful of channels.
James Baker
kill yourself tranny
Dylan Morris
Stay in your containment board.
