Imagine how it must feel to be Hayama Hayato right now. Girl of his dreams is not only love with the boy he hates the most, but they have begun dating. Moreover, that annoying fucker has been acknowledged by Yukinoshita's, feat Hayato never could achieve. Always the son of underlings, convenient minion for Haruno to boss around but nothing more, once more shown up by Hachiman. Imagining the happy future Yukino and Hachiman will have together is depressing. What does Hayato have? Soulless days as corporate wageslave await, with no meaningful friendships, just convenient & replaceable acquaintances he could care less for. Perhaps he can get Yui to wear black wig and pretend to be Yukino in the cuckshed since she's too spineless to reject even degrading request like that. Yet the worst thing of all is the sheer indifference both Yukino and Hachiman have for him. To them he might not as well exist past high school, which feels even worse than Haruno's malicious taunts. Both the present and future are dead for Hayama Hayato, only thing he has left are regrets and endless rumination over the past. Yet even that feels hollow, since Hayato himself knows that had Yukino met Hachiman in the past, Hayato would have lost there too
