Man, the reboot takes different approach about the evolution phase significantly.
In original series, the evolution phase takes time without moving and you could disturb their evolution process. While in the reboot, the digimon can move around when evolving to the next stage.

I liked Beat Hit! more than Break Up! Ashita wa Atashi no Kaze ga Fuku and Itsumo Itsudemo were better than I Wish or Keep On, though.

But Butter-Fly and Brave Heart trump their counterparts from 02. They really struck a fucking gold mine with those songs. At least half the popularity of Digimon can be explained with them.

01 still holds up perfectly and has great moments. Overall 02 is still pretty good too imo, i don't really get the hate for it. But i'm probably also in the small minority of people that liked Kens progression through the series.

You can appreciate the solid character writing a lot more as an adult. There is a lot that is explored that you don't really think about when watching as a kid and just take at face value, i.e. why Taichi is the most effective leader, Yamato and Takeru's strained relationship, etc. This goes for Adventure, not 02 though.

It became pretty clear that the story wasn't going anywhere a short while after Blackwargreymon appeared. Archnemon's antics, going around the world, and Demon suddenly appearing all leading up to the extremely contrived Vamdemon plan did not feel natural. The Dark Spores are quite out of nowhere if you didn't know about the games.

Miyako is irritating at best, and Iori was dull outside of his short interactions with Oikawa.
