Whats top and bottom right

top right Summit of the Gods and bottom right Louis Vuitton Travel Book Venice
both by Jiro Taniguchi
if you want to see if you like his style before buying these (no complete scans), read Walking Man and A Distant Neighbourhood

My actual 3x3 hasn't changed in ages so instead I made one with recent anime I've enjoyed

The jiro taniguchi manga aren't bad but they're just not my thing. Is bottom mid children of the sea?

Attached: 3x3 recent anime.jpg (900x900, 502.76K)

Yes, Children of the Sea. Using the art Igarashi did for the Umi no Yuurei single because I can't decide which I like best out of the colour pages from the manga.
>sabagebu
Only thing I've seen from your 3x3. I remember it was semi-popular in 2014 because the main girl was an asshole to all of the others. I liked the episodes with the fat guy.

>Akagi
Your taste is finally improving, shithead. Slam Dunk, Beck and Initial D are classic masterpieces.
Overall a tip-top taste. It made me want to re-watch last week's PreCure.

Attached: 3x3 Manga.jpg (3264x3264, 3.65M)

And anime.

Attached: 3x3 Anime.jpg (3264x1958, 2.73M)

>Your taste is finally improving
I've always liked Akagi. Been doing more mahjong since the lockdown and it reminded me how much of a wild ride Akagi was. Went searching for half an hour to find a good picture to use.
>Tekkon Kinkreet
Very nice but I prefer Takemitsu and Ping Pong. Sport manga are inherently better than anything else.
>Punpun
Shit shit taste, Inio Asano is a hack artist who doesn't even try to make his filtered photos blend in. All his characters look the same and he always projects the same problems onto them.
>Biomega
I even preferred Knights of Sidonia to this, even though Sidonia has a terrible ending. Haven't read any Aposimz other than the one-shot, hesitant to start it in case it's another Biomega.
I don't care too much about anime anymore other than these ones because they look good and have good soundtracks. Anime is for entertainment only and there's not a lot of value beyond the art of animation.
>Angel's Egg
Very fun and lovely art. Interesting theme of Noah's Ark capsizing, but it's fedora-tipping atheist level skepticism.
>Lain

I haven't read enough manga to select 9 that I consider my unchangeable-before-long top, but here is a selection

Slam dunk
Gantz
Narutaru
-
Historie
Aqua+Aria
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou
Kaiji

Please rate

Comfypilled, especially Gantz which is extra comfy.

What is top and left and top right?

>Been doing more mahjong since the lockdown and it reminded me how much of a wild ride Akagi was
Based. I've took it upon myself more than a decade ago to play mahjong to understand Ten and Akagi as much as possible and it was worth it.
>Very nice but I prefer Takemitsu and Ping Pong.
Takemitsu wasn't written by Matsumoto but by Eifuku Issei. Matsumoto handled the art.
>Sport manga are inherently better than anything else.
I love me sports manga/anime, enjoyed many throughout my life. But to say they're better than anything is an exaggeration.
>>Punpun
>Shit shit taste
I won't argue with what you've said about the manga and the mangaka because Asano's works aren't for everyone, especially the people who used to be edgy when they were teens and they are self-conscious about how cringey they were, but to me his works are very life-like despite being absurdist in some ways. His art is the icing on the cake, seriously, even with its flaws it's just charming. He outdid himself with Punpun and Ozanari-kun. Okay, let me stop beating around the bush and say that his art is what makes me love his work, more than his stories.
>I even preferred Knights of Sidonia to this, even though Sidonia has a terrible ending.
Let me just say one thing, I actually love every work by the authors of the mangas on my grid, with varying degrees between them of course. I'm just using cool pictures of some of their works, not necessarily my absolute favorite of them. BLAME is my favorite Tsutomu manga. I know some people hate BLAME but it's simply a masterpiece in my eyes. Read it a tons of times over the years yet it still gives me goosebumps.
>Haven't read any Aposimz other than the one-shot
It's ye olde Tsutomu manga but shounen-ish. It's actually quite fun if you don't read shounen shit like me. The protagonist sucks the power of his enemies and becomes more powerful. Also the battles aren't long and dragged like your traditional shounen trash.

I like you

Attached: 3x3_1.jpg (924x924, 332.79K)

Kuuchuu Buranko
GHOST HOUND

>Takemitsu wasn't written by Matsumoto but by Eifuku Issei
That's why I prefer it to a lot of Matsumotos. The most Matsumoto manga is Sunny, and it's very good, but it's harder to sympathise with young orphans and delinquents if you haven't been one yourself. Teenage delinquents make a lot more sense to me because it's based on hierarchy instead of being a pesky little shit because of some daddy issues.
>But to say they're better than anything is an exaggeration
I like hyperbole. Sports manga have a higher starting point than other manga due to the subject matter. They get a head start compared to everything else because sports are great. I've read bad sports manga before and they're as shit as anything else, but they had more potential.
>his art is what makes me love his work, more than his stories
Which comes down to his character designs because almost all backgrounds are filtered photos. A lot of mangaka filter photos for backgrounds, but I rarely see it as lazily done as Asano. Takahashi Tsutomu does a great job of touching up the photos so they match with his style and so the characters blend in.
>Blam!
Didn't used to like it because it's hard to follow to begin with, but once I got the hang of his style and once I stopped looking at manga the wrong way, it got much better. Nihei's architectural design and mechanical design are storytelling in and of themselves. I loved reading Sidonia because the mech design is completely different to the usual Gundam-based design and the Gauna have a very intriguing feel to them. Abara was peak bio design and the skull man is one of the coolest characters I've seen in his manga.
>Aposimz
I enjoy shounenshit when they're true to what makes them good, like One Piece and Dragonball. Hate when they betray their message like Naruto and become a shitfest. If Aposimz is a simple shounenshitesque vibe then I'll give it a read because I'll enjoy it.

Attached: 66b4838c5c530b43fc9db01e40f736a3.png (895x859, 278.97K)

Side note about One Piece, I've finished Whole Cake Island and the only bad arc so far has been Punk Hazard. It's consistently fun and the art is great. People don't want to read it because it's very long, but going on for over two decades is a good thing because it means we get more One Piece. Anyone who complains about asspulls doesn't understand storytelling and is using buzzwords to try make themselves sound smart. Asspulls are necessary to stories and the distinction between good ones and bad ones is whether you go "Awesome!" or "BULLSHIT!"

Attached: 4567568456874585.png (386x262, 37.76K)

For Slam Dunk alone, you are a man of culture. Initial D, Becks, Nausicaa are good. Taniguchi is hit or miss for me. Drifting Dragons wasn't up my alley.

yikes

Nihei's Blame is his only really amazing work. Inuyashiki was enjoyable but i wouldn't ever expected it to be on someone's 3x3. Don't like Oyasumi Punpun. But overall it's a good 3x3.

Cope harder, comic reading brainlet.

>Anime is for entertainment only and there's not a lot of value beyond the art of animation.
Is this retard even serious? If so, you should watch more anime that is not Naruto and SAO.

Great taste, ignore the other guy.

Sameshit

You're a newfag who started watching anime 6 months ago. I've seen all of the significant shit that's been made since the 70s. It's purely entertainment.

Why are you lying? When you still made anime grids you changed your favourites once a week cause your understanding of visual language was so underdeveloped you didn't even posses the mental capacity to comprehend what it was you were watching. That's unlikely to have changed, given how you're the paragon midwit of these threads.

You're projecting. I've seen your favourite anime and I don't care about it. Anime 3x3s were always what I liked at the moment.

Believe me, I've been watching anime long before you even started watching them, underage-kun.

You've been watching anime before 2004? Lol boomer

Yes, I am.
>Lol
You're indeed underage. Thanks for confirming this. Now watch some Naruto episodes because I clearly feel babyboy is mad now.

Post your 3x3 and then post a picture of your favourite fedora, poser-kun.

>Post your 3x3
No thanks, I leave that to you underage ones.
>poser-kun
Just post a pepe the frog pic already, this is the only thing that is left undone.

Not sure what's worse: The midwit who doesn't even understand his own favourite films, or you for pretending Naruto is somehow not more intellectual than 95% of all television anime ever produced.

>You've been watching anime before 2004?
Not him, but how can you watch anime since 2004 when you're only 15?

Don't worry, I found one of your pictures from back in the day.

Attached: Photo_8.jpg (640x480, 80.75K)

This one is clearly a bait, so here, have a (You).

Nope. I guarantee you that i have read more Manga than you have, so fuck off.

It's funny how much having one or two Shonen triggers people. And when you look at their 3x3, it's usually tryhard edgelord shit to project the image of an adult. This shonen=bad notion is really strange as it is as broad in terms of quality as Seinen or Josei.

Nah, reddit-level taste instead.

post your 3x3s then

sad this has to be in the OP for there to be a decent thread

A decent thread? Where?

i only read the first half of the thread when i made that post but the shit flinging is still much better than the number posting with zero conversing

Said words not numbers

What's button right?

You think i can read?

Yikes, the pleb is strong with this one.

Akagi is amazing and Taniguchi is for patricians, sucks to be a poorfag in this case though.
I Am A Hero and Punpun are not good but Kurosawa, Tekkonkinkreet, Himizu and Biomega more than make up for it, even if Tekkon is my least favorite out of Matsumoto's catalogue..
Cool aesthetics, Angel's Egg is great but The Sky Crawlers is the greater Oshii. Been meaning to watch Kuuchuu Buranko.
The Watanabe shows are amazing, especially Dandy. It's on the edge of entering my 3x3. Children of the Sea is one of the best animated films ever made.
Very comfy, must say I'm more of an Utena guy than Penguindrum.
Bleach is good for shonen standards due to the artwork, really sets it apart. That being said it's still not great. Ping Pong is greatness.
Madoka is great and Sayaka is the best girl.
I've been wanting to read the top row for forever, started Fumetsu no Anata e and really liking it. Takemitsu is the best thing that Matsumoto has worked on and a 10/10 manga, same goes for YKK. Phoenix probably would be but being unfinished prevents it from reaching that in my book. Are Kakushigoto and Yesterday actually that good or did you add them because they are getting adaptations? Nevertheless this is good taste.

Good taste, bottom left?

And manga

Attached: manga3x3.jpg (1785x2526, 1.14M)

>I Am A Hero and Punpun are not good
What is this retarded new wave of PunPun manga is not good? It became popular, so the cool kids don't like it anymore?
Seeing this statement is just extra cringey from someone who has utter garbage like KareKano or Sora no Woto among their favorites.

That's Hidamari Sketch

>What is this retarded new wave of PunPun manga is not good? It became popular, so the cool kids don't like it anymore?
Pretty much. Punpun is Yas Forums core. These newtards will never know the feeling of having new scanlations of Punpun volumes dumped on Yas Forums shortly after they came out in Japan.
It shouldn't surprise you though, even in this thread there are a lot of moeblob losers and shonen shiters.

>even in this thread there are a lot of moeblob losers and shonen shiters.
Word.

Neo-Yas Forums is truly a cancerous place.

...

>implying shounen shitfuckers can understand something as complex and meaningful as PunPun or any other Asano manga

I didn't like 2001 Nights. Not a sci-fi fan, but there were some really good stories mixed in there. For a manga sci-fi anthology you're not going to get any better.
Guardians of the Louvre is better than all the other Louvre-picked manga and it's great to read Taniguchi in colour.
Wasn't big on SSR, and haven't read The World Is Mine or top middle, but the rest of your choices are great. In This Corner and Children of the Sea are lucky to have such good movie adaptations.

I fuckin' adore FLCL

Attached: anime3x3final.png (1200x1200, 2.36M)

Punpun has about as much meaning in it as Boruto does.

It's always been popular for seinen standards. It didn't just recently become popular and Punpun being not good is not a new wave take either. If you fail to understand why Punpun isn't liked by some people then there is no saving for you.
>even in this thread there are a lot of moeblob losers and shonen shiters
Shonen shitters go hand in hand with Punpunfags.

1/10, made me react, shounencuck.

It was too deep for your shounenbrain, don't even neglect the fact.

>muh too deep for you
Spoken like a true shonenshitter. Asano has made manga with actual depth though, Nijigahara Holograph being one.

Dropped Gantz back when Kurono's brother shows up, it was so dumb. I'm willing to give Oku one more chance and I'm not sure if I should do it with Inuyashiki or Gigant.
I really liked the movie but I never got around to reading the manga. Loved Homunculus though so I'll get to it one day.
Don't care for Fukumoto
Never read I am Hero, don't like zombie shit
Don't really care for Otomo outside of Akira. Domu was okay and his short stories are serviceable
Punpun is great
Well, obviously...
Mid tier Taiyo Matsumoto for me but it is a good manga
Well, obviously...

All pretty good though Akira movie lives on it's stunning visual mastery. It's kind of a pisspoor adaptation. I'm blanking on bottom right but I'm sure I've seen it.
Reminds me that I need to read Usamaru Furuya's adaptation of No Longer Human

Not my tempo
Never got the love for YKK.
Well, obviously...
It was cool but I didn't like it THAT much., Wish more of his stuff got scanlated
I really really like Igarashi
Never read it; doesn't look like my thing
Well, obviously...
No interest in mahjong
It was ... okay...
Jiro Taniguchi is just okay for me and that one isn't even one of his best(imo)
Didn't watch
Mediocre
I like Bebop but I don't love it; Champloo is more up my alley; Tried Dandy and hated that shit.
It was okay but I actually preferred the first half.
Only watched the first anime(Parts 1 and 2, right?) and did not like it much
I don't know what that is.
Based
I only watched the first two seasons but I really liked it. Nyanko-sensei is qt as fuck

Howl is my least favorite Miyazaki movie. Based for Samurai Champloo, Gridman, and Ponyo.

Its fine if you started watching Anime last year

Stated reading Kakushigoto because i saw it here and it is definitely enjoyable. Blade of the Immortal ,Takemitsu and Phoenix are all great. I dropped To your Eternity because it reminded me too much of Phoenix. One of the best 3x3 so far.

I really liked the movie of upper left, should peek into the manga. Girls Last Tour is fine but i don't see how it is supposed to be amazing.

>Never got the love for YKK
That's not YKK, it's In This Corner of the World. Great taste though. I'm not so into is Munou no Hito and Eden wasn't my jam like that but Nijigahara Holograph, Journey, Vagabond and Takemitsu are amazing.
