ITT - anime Yas Forums memed you into watching
>Dude it's a "parody" of isekai, but what if we just had the exact same story beats as any regular isekai only instead of having characters you can enjoy for how bad they are instead the characters just have 1 personality trait they repeat over and over
>The girl gets off on getting hit and the other girl gets off on using the spell lol
>also the main character who is explicitly called a neet ends up dating one of the girls lol what an epic deconstruction
ITT - anime Yas Forums memed you into watching
Didn't this turn to shit when it stopped being a parody?
When did it stop being a parody?
It was never a parody to begin with, stop parroting that idiotic idea.
Shows biggest problem is it's just unfunny.
Idiots that can’t tell the difference between a sitcom and a parody.
exclusively heard about this show via the lens of something like
>man it's taking the piss out of stuff like SAO lol
>Trusting other people
More importantly, how do people find this shit funny?
Stop listening to retards then.
Because it is. Tell me, what do you consider funny?
The same three gags repeated over and over again is funny to you?
>repeated over
Well, their gags are a part of their character and the funny part comes when you see the reactions and consequences. Have you not seen Tom and Jerry as a kid?
lowest common denominator audience.
only newfags trust this shit board
out of all media boards, only Yas Forums and Yas Forums are proud of liking shit
Tell me, what do you consider good comedies?
garbage argument, it's funny because funny things happen, the scene in the movie where you learn crimson demons were made by another isekai'd dude who made up a bunch of bullshit about them to placate their chuuni personalities is funny because since Megumin was introduced their race was built up as eccentric but proud of their heritage, and as the series goes on you slowly learn how isekai'd people have really done nothing but fuck up the balance of the world without really accomplishing anything they were originally sent there for, so when you see that the entire foundation of crimson demon culture is built on some slacker isekai protag's joke, the realization is funny, because you had an expectation of something, but it turns out the real nature was more ridiculous. That's like the most basic foundation of humor. Taken further, it's just another punchline in the long running series joke that of all the isekai'd people in Konosuba, the one who has done anything even remotely close to what he was sent there to do is Kazuma, the hikiNEET pervert who stumbles into dangerous situations while trying to avoid them as much as possible, and while skirting his responsibilities to make money or lose his virginity he inadvertently has done more for the cause than the scientist whose inventions have only caused more destruction than the demon king, and the traditional hero who really doesn't do much more than middling quests and white knighting for girls
that's funny, because you have an expectation
>this slacker will slack off
and it turns out the reality was more ridiculous
>slacking off turned out to help more than being productive
this is even more involved as a joke because while the simplest form is instead of your expectation being true an even more absurd reality exists, your expectation is true, it's just that the results were more absurd.
Not that dude, but I consider Prison School funny. Konosuba is pretty funny but mildly overrated imo
Tim and Eric.
Never explain comedy, user. If the philistines don't get it, then let them not get it.
Ok, thanks for explaining how Konosuba plays with our expectations, now tell me, why do you think my previous post is “garbage argument”
Konosuba is pretty light hearted, but prison school is raunchy, some people might be put off by that.
>It's a retard doesn't know the word "farce" so he calls every comedic show "parody" episode.
Never explain the joke.
Lmao, the montage in the end of episode 1 is the most high IQ joke in the history of anime, you are a filtered pleb.
The thing I find funny in Konosuba are the insults, like loli neeto or kono bitchi. They should do that more
anyone who tries to avoid criticism by arguing that the flaw is one of the medium and not the work has low expectations. there can always be a work that's better - just because Tom an Jerry is funny doesn't mean it's flawless, and that goes for literally everything ever made. Repetitive characters are necessary evil in comedy until they're not - just because Konosuba isn't the show to surpass that limitation doesn't mean it shouldn't be treated like what it is - a limitation
>limitation
Do you call the ending scene from the movie a limitation? Not saying that all shows are flawless from repeated gags, but for me, the reason why this series works is because there are character growth. Megumin letting Kazuma pick whether she should continue towards obtaining the most powerful explosive spell or to obtain advance magic, only for him to let her continue on her ultimate quest is a great example of growth. This makes the comedic aspects funny because you are seeing her growth when you see her doing more unnecessary damage and probably seeing Kazuma regretting the choice (I haven’t read future volumes, I’m making assumptions based on what I’ve seen).
Just like trusting people who tell you SNAFU was good
Rick and Morty
Anime was always awesome and based, but LN started to get shit and low quality after all that harem shit/love triangle.
Hope next volume next month will be better.
Is it wrong to dislike Konosuba because its turned into one of r*ddits favourite anime?
>The only isekai I enjoy and can't point out anything major done wrong
>Meme'd into
I'm grateful for the aqua fags and their love.
Yes.
Ignore Reddit and its opinions, for good or for bad.
that's not a repeated gag, a repeated gag is Megumin using explosion every episode or Darkness wanting to be hurt every episode. They don't build on anything and don't add much, jokes like that only work once because once you start expecting them to act like a masochist or whatever else, you expect the gag and it isn't funny. The last scene in the movie isn't even a joke because yeah while you don't expect Megumin to give up her pursuit of explosion magic the real thing isn't outrageous it's endearing - you see a character whose gag potentially caused a serious problem and seeing the comedic relief express regret or level with the mc in any way is always played for emotional attachment, not humor. The support Kazuma gives her isn't funny, it's supposed to be emotional because Kazuma is saying he would rather have Megumin stay true to herself than be safer or better equipped. Let me make myself clear, repeated gags are a limitation of comedy, what you describe is neither a repeated gag nor comedy - it's building off a character trait in an emotional way. You wouldn't have to see megumin set off an explosion every episode to know its a deep part of her character written well enough, so the fact that her explosion magic is a repeated gag doesn't have any bearing on her growth in that scene. Her explosion magic gag doesn't illustrate how important explosion magic is to her any more on the 100th time than it did on the 10th time, there comes a point where the audience has picked up on it, and repeating it isn't driving the point home it's belittling the viewer. You shouldn't have to show an astute audience anything more than a few times, and the more you give away the more your audience will begin to feel undermined, like "we get it, we get it"
This. And annoying as hell
It was never a parody. Self awareness is not parody. It's just another vapid ironic pile of shit.
You'll end up with an extremely limited range of options if you're going to dislike everything reddit likes.
I hope you like anime for little girls.
>anime for little girls
Like Prisma Illya right?
Obligatory hxh
It's just a sitcom with terrible people, it's not a parody
>Dude it's a "parody" of isekai
It is
>but what if we just had the exact same story beats as any regular isekai
They're subverted
>instead of having characters you can enjoy for how bad they are instead the characters just have 1 personality trait they repeat over and over
>>The girl gets off on getting hit and the other girl gets off on using the spell lol
The humor builds upon itself
>>also the main character who is explicitly called a neet ends up dating one of the girls lol
You don't know what a NEET is.
Or did you mean virgin? Well everyone is a virgin before they have sex for the first time. That's how it works.
>what an epic deconstruction
A parody is not a deconstruction, it's a parody.
megumi a shit for first
What do you mean? Endless summer was a masterpiece.
Why do you even know what Reddit likes? This is a serious question btw. I always hear people talk about Reddit this, Reddit that. But I don't browse Reddit, so I have no idea
You see
I have good taste, the perfect taste in fact.
and everyone acknowledged that you have shit taste from the get go
So it's only natural that the things I enjoy would not appeal to you just like how jewelry wouldn't appeal to a pig. It should've been obvious.
>it's funny because funny things happen
>anime has comedic tone
>IT MUST BE A PARODY
You fags would probably also be crying about Slayers taking itself seriously if it aired today
haha aqua maek silly face
haha megumin said explosion
haha kazuma liek panty and hitting women
>also the main character who is explicitly called a neet ends up dating one of the girls lol what an epic deconstruction
Reminder that the ENTIRE series is just one giant self insert for the author.
nathan for you
I do not tell people the things they *want* to hear, I tell them the truth as I understand it which often is very unpopular.
If I just did what people wanted to see then every post would be a variant of “I'm going to post this every day until you like it” with an image of a cartoon girl eating a fish attached.
If you want an user that tells you that Konosuba is an unfunny Reddit anime or that Megumin sucks then this is the wrong place.
There are over three hundred long threads full of free discussions about why Konosuba is hilarious, and the detractors tend to latch onto one of the following five things to justify their hate:
>Megumin over-uses explosions
>Darkness's masochist side gets old fast
>Aqua is useless
>Kazuma doesn't behave like a real hikkiNEET
>my stance on egg yolks
The difference is that Slayers is based while KonoSuba is not.
*ahem*
>pause
You're all fucking retarded. Also this is an Aqua thread now. Praise Aqua, or get lost.
>start
carry on, idiots
You aquafags are some of the most annoying memelords on this board
My Water Goddess Cannot Be This Cute
Yeah that clears it up.
The konosubafag is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a redditor, underage, obnoxious, memelord, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call his anime a non parody isekai and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: “I’ve been found out.”
...
>underage
It’s been ages
kek
unclench you coping faggot
