who is this corona and how do we kill him
We can defeat him with the power of friendship, then he becomes our ally.
The cure was the friends we made along the way.
So no issue next week, but the following week we get two issues at once?
Yes
> Last thing you got to look forward too gets shutdown
Its all too tiresome man.
It's just a one week delay and they're doing a double issue the week after that, relax.
I will only believe it when I see it. It always starts as 1 or 2 weeks. Then they push back the deadline by another 1 or 2 weeks.
>editors always meeting with mangaka to discuss stuff as well as picking physical manuscripts
>mangaka aren't exactly the healthiest of people
I guess it's time to see which series is missing from the new magazine in two weeks.
Double issue doesn't mean double chapters in wsj language, unfortunately. They already pulled that shit, why they can't just say they take a break of a week is beyond me
I don't want to think about this.
Will Corona-chan actually end up saving some series from the axe?
>"Weekly Shonen Jump 21" will be postponed. For Jump + series, we receive their work fairly early, so they are likely to be updated normally until the end of April, but after that more series will be closed. Under such circumstances, I hope you understand.
what about the 13th of april issue?
>japanese are to retarded to do a job that requires literally no human interaction from home
color me surprised.
Nearly every fucking country already figured out how to do almost every possible thing from home and japan can't even do this
That'll be coming out as normal.
It's your countries leader, use a gun or a sword

We still can get the spoiler this weak right?
You do know that most manga artist isn't working alone right? They usually work in a room with assistants
But it does require human interaction. A mangaka has to meet regularly with their editor and work with their assistants. When deadlines are tight to begin with, as they always are in weekly publications, attempted changes in the system can easily cause problems.
Yeah and most people are also quarantined with their family, it's not a big gathering.
If only there was a way to deliver things from one place to another or perhaps share live video feed or even images
Or even some way to draw using computers
One day we will have the technology I'm sure of it
China killed WSJ
This is fake btw
most mangaka draw on computers, what are you on about
Do you constantly buy new keyboards or did you get a waterproof one? Can't be easy to post with all that drool falling from your mouth
do you always immediately resort to acting like a little bitch when people point out that you don't know shit?
Generally meet the people you work with in-person and discuss things on the spot is better.
Yeah but most mangaka also work in a close proximity with their assistant, like maybe 3 or 4 people working in the same room those rooms aren't the cleanest place.
Many (most? not sure) artists still work with pen and paper. They can't afford a proper tablet, or can't/don't want get over the learning curve for it. There's a loss with scanning and printing something out, especially when dealing with delicate effects and true blacks. Mailing is possible, but that's still putting a delay in something with an already cramped schedule.
No. Spoilers and leaks rely on early shipments that are sent out to the more remote parts of Japan. If the entire issue is delayed, then there won't be any shipments.
No
>Due to a confirmed coronavirus case within Shueisha's editorial, a decision was made to delay the release of Issue 21 of the magazine (print & digital) from April 20th to April 27th & rename it to Issue 21•22. The release of Issue 20 is still scheduled on April 13th.

He called you a drooling retard because you missed that he was being sarcastic, user
Usually it doesn't, but they said they will release both issues during the same week to make up for the delays, so this is a "real" double issue for once.
Nah, the fact that they think they can make up for it with a double release the week after that means they're confident.
This week there will be spoilers, next one there won't
It's truly amazing how much of an idiot you are.
Please keep it up because it's vastly entertaining.
>Generally meet the people you work with in-person and discuss things on the spot is better.
Sure but these are extraordinary circumstances not having in person discussions is a very small sacrifice.
>Mailing is possible, but that's still putting a delay in something with an already cramped schedule.
I guess if it is just a week delay you are right.
Just because the technology exists doesn't mean implementing it is a simple process.
The problem isn't the size of the group of people. The problem is that assistants and editors typically take public transit to work. Which is typically crowded.
Plenty of mangaka have already switched to digital, and some already have things set up so that their assistants can work from home. The problem is that it's really scattershot. Some mangaka at a magazine - especially the younger ones - will be on digital, and some mangaka - especially the older ones - will be on analogue.
The real problem is that it isn't a quick switch over. Jump could buy everyone the necessary hardware tomorrow, but that wouldn't help much. There's a learning curve when it comes to switching from working with analogue to working with digital. During the time they're learning, the work produced would be slower and likely look worse. So it's not a magic fix to the problem, unless they were already doing it.
It is still simpler to implement than most jobs. It's already a job that is done remotely most of the time to begin with.
Interesting. IIRC, originally #22-23 was supposed to be a double issue. It was the Golden Week double issue so people could take time off for the holidays. I wonder if it'll now be a #23-24 double issue, or if they're just moving the double issue one issue forward.
Oh actually might not be a "real" double issue after all, the translation I read was different. Well, we'll just have to wait and see.
What is printing company retard.
Chink fault
Wrong, we beat corona by believing in ourselves, just like this bitch
Since it is an industry I assume something not affected by the shutdowns?
Or did Japan actually decided to suicide what little economy they have left?
he was the coolest guy
No, an issue next week. No issue the week after. Then two issues. Then another week with no issue. And by then the manga industry will have probably shutdown permanently as Japan's economy collapses.
>Since it is an industry I assume something not affected by the shutdowns?
???
Nah, the "shutdown" doesn't even include most of japan, just 7 prefectures out of what, 40?
And Toyko, one of the biggest cities in the world. Many prefectures have very little people in them which is why they don't need to be shut down. Ideally all countries would function this way but they shut down people like me in the forgotten part of the country despite the fact they don't even bother supplying a high-enough coronohoax total to justify it.
The pointless thing that bothers me the most is that someone will be cheated out of a the 22 cover and potentially even a LCP since 21 is already reserved for Bone Collection.
Yeah, but still. Besides even in tokyo WSJ will still get sold since it's not something that only bookstores sell, it's in corner stores etc. as well.
They'll find a way to print it and we'll probably even still get the leaks considering those stores are where we get the leaks from in the first place.
So we still ganna get vol 20 spoilers this week?
To be honest, from my time in Japan, I couldn't imagine any difference between a shutdown and no shutdown except maybe jailing all the foreigners for the public good.
They usually come from China, so nothing is guaranteed at this point.
Wait so is it a 'double' issue like Golden Week where it's only a double issue in name, or are we actually get two chapters this time.
It should be an issue plus a double-issue, so a break, two chapters and another break. Magazines are actually made weeks in advance so it's not like they're skipping a chapter, they just can't get the chapters they already have out on schedule. I think the digital version may be released differently than the physical one though.
If someone from editorial staff got corona it means they all have to get checked now, when they're getting checked they can't work from home too, schedules are too tight to allow few days leave without delays.
former
Go to China.
Let me this right, this week is just normal right?
