Shadowverse

First episode has aired and it was pretty fun. Hiro is cute. Animation looks good and hopefully next episode we get a full look at how the battle works.

The real star of the first episode

>didn't explain the rule of the game
>didn't actually show the battle
>MC's Bolshack Dragon has too much effects
>no threat from strong monsters due to the nature of the game where all monsters have deductable health
>no tension because the game is designed that surprise comeback win is impossible

>how the battle works.
It doesn't, the game sucks and only got popular initially as a slightly more complicated alternative to hearthstone, it has no reason to exist now that eternal, mtga and legends of runeterra are out.

That whole sequence was so stupid and over the top it almost looked like a parody

where is the 160 iq dimension shift player?

Isnt DS rotated out of existence?

I don't know I haven't played since wonderland

They’re trying to appeal to the ygo crowd

im really liking how corny it is and it seems like they're playing off tropes on purpose, but i just wish the decks weren't shit. they're using cards from the very first sets of the game that literally no one uses anymore. i hope the duels become more interesting but i guess since it's shadowverse that might be kind of hard.

is there a path to purgatory deck?

i wish. they've just been using the default set for some reason, probably because its easier to follow when none of the cards do anything but its boring to watch.

I doubt Hiro deck will stay the same. It will probably change soon. This is also a year long anime so he’ll likely change decks multiple times.

>didn't explain the rule of the game
The only rule of the game that wouldn't be obvious is evolution points which they did introduce.
>didn't actually show the battle
The showed every single turn
>MC's Bolshack Dragon has too much effects
It has like 2
>no threat from strong monsters due to the nature of the game where all monsters have deductable health
What does having "deductible health" have to do with a card being "threatening"?
>no tension because the game is designed that surprise comeback win is impossible
The game is actually the most swingy I've ever seen from a MTG clone. If a creature with more than 3 attack survives your opponents turn you basically win the game on the spot. There are tons of board wipes, removal, and creatures suicideing into eachother. Not to mention the retarded one shot cards that come out every expansion.

What do you need to explain? First battle was literally both players unga bunga in their way in. The only effects they used were Dragoncraft version of pot of greed, mouthbreather Latham and the new super special dragon.

Thank you for elaborating that the game is shit.

It has big fat titties and scantly clad lolis. Good enough for me

How's the PriConne anime by comparison? This one seems pretty standard card game show fare complete with heart of the cards.

So basically he's got an otterbox on his arm for his smartphone.
That's real fuckin' neato.

>MC went second, which means he got to evolve first
>got thrilled when someone evolved
How the fuck does this work?

>It has like 2
3. People seem to forget the part where it gets +5 while attacking.

>shitverse
Trash game.

>Anime is about the game
>it's not about the character cards set in their Isekai Universe

Attached: Yuck.jpg (625x716, 159.07K)

>anime is not about a naked elf girl isekai into your world because she was pursuing her possessed girlfriend
And dropped

inb4 our main guy Hiro uses unnerfed Zell to give his dorogan storm.

>modern day card game anime and not isekai or fantasy in the actual world
>It's not about pretty boy actual champion FEG
Uninstalled

>SORE WA DOU KANA?
Now this is officially yu-gi-oh
I can't wait for
>DAGA DAMEJI WA UKERU

I hope we see better animations from the monsters.
Most were just still frames.

can't really expect anything from the games till they start going into the meatier ones that will go on for multiple episodes

YGO Sevens is better

you better not be joking

The funny thing is that this feels closer to YGO than sevens. Protagonist has a nicer design too.

Anyone else think Ignis is really underwhelming for a protagonist ace card? Here is what its effects should have been for maximum PROTAGONIST topdeck comeback bullshit:

>7pp 5/5 -> 7/7 on evo
>When this card is added to your hand at the beginning of the turn, and your hand has two cards or less including this card, reveal it. Then add X to this follower's attack. X equals the number of your maximum amount of play points divided by half, rounding down.
>Fanfare: gain the ability to evolve for 0 EP if there are two or less cards in your hand.
>Evolve: gain Follower Strike: deal X damage to all enemies. X equals this follower's attack.

wtf when did they nerf goliath?

Attached: file.png (1920x1017, 2.23M)

I want to fuck Otohime in front of her bodyguards.

>nerfed
She's buffed now

I haven't played the game since rotation was introduced, is the game still 1hko territory? Or has that been nerfed?

Konosuba tier

>complete with heart of the cards.
It doesn't seem to be that bad. You can't make as much shit up, as in Duel Masters.

I played the shit out of this for several years but this anime made me want to kill myself.

I had fun, though I spent the whole time screaming in anger at how shit their decks were.

>MC wins by having the worst condition and happening upon a card that works to said worst condition's scenario (can evolve the monster he summoned without points by having 2 cards or less in hand (monster card effect), deals 3 damage to all opponent's monsters after attacking and buffs itself by +5 whenever it attacks)

Sounds pretty hard of the cards to me. Maybe it'll get better in future episodes though since this was just a 1 episode duel.

>First enemy player
>His signature card is fucking Latham
>Fucking Latham, who was almost never player because Floral Fencer (silver card) shat on it
>He played bunch of 2/2 and 1/2 do nothing without any synergy
>He is supposedly to be aggro, but he has bunch of ward cards
>no spells

How the hell did this anti-synergy deck defeat even most basic forest deck? I am not even talking about roaches or ptp, but just tempo forest based on creatures.
To be honest this whole thing will be very hard to make exciting because Shadowverse doesn't have traps and instants. The best you can hope is to see some top tier memes like Bloody Mary deck or JO Dragon

Is there no kind of interaction at all?

Haven't played in years. Did they ever nerf heavenly aegis? I swear half the fights always ended with him showing up.

was it better than sevens?

not a very high bar

Aegis has never been a good card. Only new players had trouble with it.

Attached: aegis.png (709x428, 37.02K)

constantly losing to aegis means that you're a bad player that can't close out games

>To be honest this whole thing will be very hard to make exciting because Shadowverse doesn't have traps and instants
Yeah I really don't know what they were thinking, card game anime are exciting because of people turning shit around during their opponents turn, shadowverse has none of that, they should have just fucking made a fantasy anime set inside the shadowverse universe

This whole anime is a disappointment. I rather the yuri shit of Manaria Friends.

how is that going to advertise the card game?

Rotation fucks over aggro unga bunga so no.

Shadow would be cancer if it had cards that disrupt opponent turns

in the entire game there are no actions you can take during your opponents turn, it only got popular initially because it was a more complicated hearthstone with anime titties but there are better alternatives now

It wouldn't but it wouldn't actively turn away players like showing off how bland the game actually is will

Unless they introduced some sort of traps then no. When it is your turn, your opponent can not do shit. Game has plenty of interactions, but you idea of instant spell or ability just doesn't exist. Which is why OHKO and creatures that can attack face the turn they are played is so dominant in meta. It is anime heartstone with less rng.

Abuse wards to prevent OTKs

at least HS has secrets to interact with the opponent

I have no idea how meta looks now as I havn't played for more than a year, but you must be joking with this. Wards were only effective against aggro sword, rest of the decks that had proper bullshit winconditions would laugh at you.

She was one of my MVP's back in 2017. Then she got powercreeped and rotated. How sad
