RIP 2020 summer anime

english.kyodonews.net/news/2020/04/5c77df980ac8-breaking-news-abe-to-declare-state-of-emergency-over-virus-govt-official.html

>The declaration is expected on Tuesday, and will take effect Wednesday, according to an administration source. Once declared, prefectural governors will be able to tell the public to stay at home and request the closure of schools and other facilities. Major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka will likely be targeted, the government official added.

>An emergency declaration, the first of its kind in Japan, would restrict individual rights, allowing prefectural governors to call for specific action to prevent the spread of the virus.

This is anime related jannie, fuck off

Are anime studios essential work

Reminder that the jannie is a literal tranny

That makes no sense. Anime is made through a computer. Why would a retarded virus prevent people from working on anime?

dude, no....i want more animne!

Weren't schools and businesses already being shut down? Did they reopen them again?

Is there a way to make a work at home arrangement for an anime studio?

>Anime is made through a computer
God, are you that naive? How old are you?

Seasonalfags on suicide watch.

>HE DOES IT FOR FREE

How mad is abe about this and the olympics

Nope, they're just a creative business.

sir user do you know what an anime studio is

Yes, Abe. Delay 3.0 + 1.0 again. Right on schedule.

Going to get even madder when he gets kicked out of office by his own party for how badly he handled all of this. His former supporters are livid as fuck at him.

>Delay 3.0 + 1.0 again
AAAAHHHH THIS IS WHAT PISSES ME OFF THE MOST

Why? It's just a fucking movie.

anime studios can probably work remotely. Some of them won't do that because of muh security reasons but others will.

I hope Anno dies from coronavirus and we never get a follow up to 3.33 and that is the ending to the entire Evangelion franchise

>Even if a state of emergency is declared, citywide lockdowns, as seen in other countries hit hard by the coronavirus such as China and France, cannot be enforced under Japanese law. People will not be punished if they do not fall in line, neither can business activity be banned.

In fact a good portion of the work can be outsourced to China. Anime will be fine.

Making an anime is too much of a team effort. It would probably be hard to make one if done remotely by different departments.

this might sound a bit crazy but what if animators scanned their drawings

Attached: 1568734540557.jpg (713x743, 234.62K)

>animation studios shut down
>mangakas get to stay holed up in their studios with nothing better to do anyway
this isn't without its silver lining

Attached: 1490560901856.png (903x713, 325.92K)

Those with a digital workflow can probably adapt, but many are still doing things on paper. Odds are smaller subcontractors don't have to resources to work digitally so that's also a problem even if the main animation studio for a project can have their staff work from home.

I've been teleworking for a month now and let me tell you its a massive pain to get anything accomplished if it involves input from other people. You end up with like 2-5 conference calls a day because you can't just walk down the hall to talk to someone, everything you could just drop off now needs to be scanned and emailed like 5 different times as edits are made, and everything just slows down in general.

I doubt it. Simply because from home is anathema in Japan no matter what industry you're in. Last summer, they had a program to encourage people to work from home in anticipation of the Olympics. My company participated, but just sent me to a different office instead of having me actually work from home. Sage for blogshit.

Good, first comes defeating the virus, the rest can wait. Otherwise soon enough there will not be rest.

>be 33 year old neet looser scumbag
>lifelong weeb
>finally come to the realization that my last chance of a genuinely respectable and happy life is getting off my ass and going to Japan
>finally my appreciate the bullshit I endured in college as Japan won't let non college degree holders stay long term
>apply for various gaijin English teaching jobs just so I can get the first step in the door to a new life
>coronavirus fucks up the entire process

Amazing, truly amazing. Between spending a month in the looney bin a few years back after a nervous breakdown over my wasted life, and now my dream being fucked around by a force of nature, I simply can't catch a fucking break. Wow. It almost makes me laugh. Sorry for the blog.

it's not like they weren't holed down before

mangachads win yet again, getting a little tired of it bros

I'm gonna hazard a guess that low-paid animators don't have high end office scanners at home. They probably have some shitty $30 printer they got on sale that's just good enough for their home needs but nowhere near good enough to use for animation work.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Fuck my video games.

Please tell them to bring home their workstations and program from home.

Just wait a year - year and a half dude calm the fuck down you can get your waifu when this is over and they loosen restrictions

Japan’s 90% elderly population will die off though from this dramatically

A lot of businesses in Japan are already voluntarity closed. Even if it isn't enforcable with a punishment, as the Japanese are, all they need is for the government to "politely ask" them to close their businesses and only "ask" the essential businesses to open

thanks china

Yeah. I should make a thread on Yas Forums about this

Someone beat you to it.

Just wait a year, and make better preparations.

Thanks for the advice, but I honestly don't know if I could handle another year of misery. Even with heavy medication and therapy, the prospect of living and working in Japan even as a lame and lowly gaijin teacher, gave me a sense of happiness and excitement I have never ever known before. Anime and manga along with learning Japanese are all that keep calm in the mean time.

haha, stupid japs should have transitioned to all digital long time ago

>Anime is made through a computer.
Most key animators and inbetweeners still use pencil and paper. Very few studios have a decent amount of tablets and development into other digital technologies, and that's putting aside the huge amount of freelancers that still prefer to work traditionally.

Some amount of work can be done from home ,and in fact, plenty of freelancers choose to work primarily from their homes, but you still need production assistants to drive around to pick up the key frames/corrections/other shit to then scan. And this makes things impossible for directors/episode directors, who are at a studio more than full-time.

Hell, a few months ago a woman employed at ufotable had to quit because they wouldn't let her work from home in the later stages of her pregnancy. And ufotable is one of the better studios about digital technology and employment. Most studios are a pain in the ass about this kind of thing.
Not really, many studios don't even have an internal art department. Plenty of anime is outsourced in part or whole to other studios.

I doubt seiyuu can considering they lack the proper recording equipment at home.

Nips also have fault for reacting late and pretending that everything is fine so they can push the Olympics.

You’re never going to be happy if you project all your hopes on to dreams. Grass is always Greener syndrome is a classic depression entrapment

Fake news. It's not even in the NHK headlines.

NHK already reported that seiyuus aren't getting paid due to event cancellations and 20% of them are already in debt.
I made a thread about it yesterday but because it is muh twitter post the janny deleted it

Once this whole pandemic blows over, I hope the rest of the world decides to nuke China. So shit like this doesn't happen again.

>>mangakas get to stay holed up in their studios with nothing better to do anyway
Mangaka, sure, but most rely on assistants to do parts of the manga, and also hold meetings with the editor. Meetings can be done over conference calls, but unless the mangaka works digitally, they'll be working slower without their assistants.

It's in Asahi (the liberal media), Kyodo, and the Japan Times.

>"just start your backlogs already you fucking gaijins" - Abe

First they take away my sports, and now they take away my anime. I'll never forgive the Chinese for this.

>The very first post is anti-Japan
Sasuga

summer will really be the backlog season and I have no excuse this time.

Summer anime? This will affect almost every single Spring show. The only exceptions will be BNA and Bakarina.

Has anyone else noticed this board’s jannie is significantly worse than other ones. We’re pretty well behaved and we get policed for ON TOPIC SHIT

Nothing is going to happen. The world is just too dependent on Chinese cheap labor.
No, something is going to happen: a worse disease will come from there, one that will actually wipe out a considerable amount of population worldwide.

RIP Japan you mean, they have spend billions on the Olympics only to get fucked in the ass, it's the perfect time for the west to take over.

>toubun season 2 delayed
god fucking damn it

The last Eva rebuild movie is probably going to be delayed until at least Christmas because of this shit

Yeah, fuck that guy.

Yas Forums janitors are right; Twitter threads are 99% cancer and if the rare 1% actually on-topic thread has to be deleted along with the rest, so it be.

I bet you're Yas Forumsermin.

>time for the west to take over
that happened 200 years ago, user

NO MY HIGURASHI REMAKE

Attached: 1584798758844.jpg (929x759, 60.14K)

Togashi is in his house with no excuse whatsoever and still not working on HxH, I wouldn't be so sure.

>The world is just too dependent on Chinese cheap labor.

Companies were already starting to shift factories to SEA countries even before the virus just because they were sick of China's bullshit. All this is going to make even more bigger companies pull out of China and look elsewhere.

I thought they had it under control?

>rigboi.mp4

Trigger will win the season because BNA doesn't need to get delayed. Absolutely fucking based.

>Netflix already making anime.
>CR already making anime.
>Funi recently announced their getting into making anime.

The takeover already started user. Enjoy your low budget korean webcomic adaptations and politically correct script re-writes.

Famous professional seiyuu doing V-tuber cam-girl work, when?

Bocchi's seiyuu is definitely in trouble now.

Nice on topic thread, stupid phoneshitters.

Except this is pure fantasy; everyone and their dog already count on Chinese cheap labor to make a profit and moving their operation anywhere else would be suicide.

This is the 2nd he has done this. He fucked up big time again.

>All this is going to make even more bigger companies pull out of China and look elsewhere
I doubt it since China has the virus more or lest under control. European countries and the US are much worse than China now.

It's really easy to produce low numbers of confirmed cases when you aren't actually testing anyone because you don't want to scare away the Olympics. Notice all these shutdowns and infection spikes only started now that Olympics have been officially postponed?

Tried to pretend it was under control because of Olympic.

Actually, I don't know how it happened since Japan is like one of cleanliest countries.

>but you still need production assistants to drive around to pick up the key frames/corrections/other shit to then scan
Lmao what a dinosaur industry. The lockdown will be good for them, it will force them to catch up to the 21st century

Thats what the Fuhrer in Chief said and the story China is peddling.

Retard, pandemics aren’t exclusive to China various countries though history have started them.

They mostly work from home anyway, if not, it's easy to transition.

I thought their culture meant they were immune to it?

Praise be to Japan all I will say is that they did something right.

During CNY, when most Chinese would be travelling, Japan had not implemented a travel ban and there were a lot of Chinese tourists in the country, some of them could have been from Wuhan or met someone from Wuhan.

A fortnight, one month afterwards there was no dramatic increase in numbers. You would expect them to really feel it in February but that didn't eventuate. I don't know what it is but something did go right.

They only really started fucking up with the Diamond Princess fiasco.

>log horizon s3 is going to be cancelled
This is not database.

This could finally mean the death of idol shit.

For me, they are.
They are my daily drug.
I need some doses daily to escape the harsh reality.

What the fuck are these guys spending their salaries on that they've already spent all their savings?

Lots of seiyuu have been going to youtube lately. It's a great time to get some exposure there and maybe earn some stream money.

"Surge". Imbecilic moron should have quarantined things way earlier, but muh money.

I feel you. I was also thinking maybe I could get a job in Japan as an animator.

>Believing china's numbers

If you work involves computers all day you can easily work from home. My country is under quarantine and thankfully I've been able to keep working; I'm just doing it from house (working for a business marked as essential helps).

No idea if it's the same for anime production; hell, even meetings can be done through internet.

pretty much
>noooo I want to talk about how much I like videogames and hate transsexuals, why can't I do it on Yas Forums noooo

>Actually, I don't know how it happened since Japan is like one of cleanliest countries.
There are too many people in the big cities (specially Tokyo). The infection can spread very easily there even if everything is super clean.

At least those places never tried covering it up and fucking over the rest of the world.

just play FF7RE instead since thats fucking rebuild now

I've never been to Japan but don't they fucking wear masks everywhere even before the Wuhan Flu? How did they let it get this bad?

Attached: 1324624350330.jpg (842x815, 122.58K)

Why an English teacher? Could you tell us why and not get another white collar job or even a blue collar job in Japan?

>since Japan is like one of cleanliest countries.

It's getting fucked for the same reason all the big cities are getting fucked. High population density is unavoidable in large cities. With a ton of people relying on public transport in Japan I'm not surprised its spreading.
