Unfortunately I'm afraid that this guy is right because Anno hate his fans and probably his own show. He his anti-imagination, every things who seems interesting in this show are constantly ruined by him and his fans telling us it mean nothing. For exemple if a character on this show is portrayed good or bad, then it will remains exactly the same, no matters if the character did something fucked up, if Anno decided that then it's a good character, the best exemple of this is Shinji's mom.
Another exemple is that Anno for some reason tell us Asuka is the most realistic woman on this show and that normal womens should behave like her, you have no rights to prefers more calm or submissive womens.
And of course every problems you have is your own fault, even the circumstances portrayed in Eva.
Evangelion is like Star Wars, fans love it very much and wants it to be something more but the creator is constantly ruining everything.

I have one exemple: I noticed Shinji's mom Yui is far to be a "good" person, there is a scene where she clearly has a Godhood project for herself and basically used both his son and his husband to reach it. Well Anno will tell you that you are stupid, Yui is a hero who saved the world and you should not ask any more questions about it. She was portrayed good so she's good.
Another exemple are the religious symbolism, it's pretty obvious that Seele are a masonic gnostic cult or that there unironically a gnostic interpretation on some scenes or character which is 100% legit. This is correct. This is why Misato's hair is purple. It's not just a way to render black hair in animation. Misato's hair is shaded purple because she herself is a blend of red (Asuka) and blue (Rei). She's both woman as lover and woman as mother. She's a mingling of archetypes and therefore represents women as they really are, instead of being an ideal.
