Are they different depending on the category used to create them? Like, are the princes' beasts different from Razor's or Goreinu's? Or are all nen beasts just emitted/manipulated constructs that have their own properties depending on the user?

There's a lot of factors that make it different from most shounen and the second part of chimera ants arc is a masterpiece. You certainly didn't watch it and know it mostly from 'hunterchad' memes which are mostly the fruits of trolling and falseflagging.
