Nothing special so far plot or animation wise, and the reaction to the character design has been mostly negative. It could end up good, but it's done nothing to earn attention at this point.

From the info that i gather from official website, it's seems Player intended to become something that can be made and mass produced. mostly for military reason.

but there's also the case when regular people can have an input audio jack in their body, thanks to some character that probably have a knowledge and implement it to regular people for the sake of money.

so, not all players is a good guy who kill the monster for the sake of world peace, some players literally a bandit ( just like what we saw on the end credits of episode 1 ) and some other's probably just a street rat ( twitter.com/listeners_PR/status/1246720767712047105 )

their power also depend on how good AMP they are used. Mu got dogshit mecha because he literally using amp that Echo made from a scrap junk. look at pic related, Kevin Mecha looks quite good and for Billin her mecha literally formed a Centaurus.

So what's the input/output when it comes to players and equipment?

Do the amps/equipment generate sound that the players convert into power, or is it the other way around with the players emitting the sound of their soul or something, that the amps/equipment then in turn transform into power?

we still don't know that far, but from what i know all music literally disappear with Jimi 10 years ago.

it probably will be explained when they meet Nir, Marshall and Kevin since three of them literally have a profession that related to AMP and jack output.

The dialog was pretty awful.

I think dialogue between Mu and Echo are fine though.

I'm not really bothered with small things like that, and i think dialouge when Echo talking that he still didn't know her name is good. It's give an emotion to their relationship.

Well, like the entire first cour of E7 only serves at presenting the characters and the mecha with only very sparse hints at worldbuilding.
Anime originals can only draw watchers in because of the premise, the studio or people who worked on it (be it animators, writers, seiyuu, chara designers)

The premise hits all the right buttons, but the execution is really underwhelming. In a pilot episode for a mecha show you expect a better first action scene than a weird CGI thing from Basquash doing a CGI explosion against a mob of identical bland enemies that don't do anything.

On the surface it could be something with the soul of FLCL or Eureka Seven, which I enjoyed, but those actually had production values and seemed to show some real creative ambition. This show is way too safe and generic and unless they plan to introduce the rest of the cast and create some chemistry i don't see what it can really offer.
