Manga artists do usually have assistants working in the same room and have the editor come over frequently. Also, the manga does need to be published and publishing houses tend to have big, open offices.

Notice how if you sort the list of countries by infection count they get progressively less shitty the more infections they have.
We're going to need to wait until meta studies are done on general death rates in every country that year compared to the norm to have even a remotely accurate number.
