I don't want to be that doomposter guy, but Tokyo is turning into NYC pretty fast
Anime is doomed
They're gonna delay everything, EVERYTHING
I don't want to be that doomposter guy, but Tokyo is turning into NYC pretty fast
Rip Tokyo.
I’m in NYC rn and I gotta say the quarantine is pretty ass.
It's a nothingburger dude
i-it's just a flu
RIP Tokyo's pensioners.
RIP Eva 3.0
It technically is.
With added bonus of culling old and weak.
Oh nonononononono
Not my Jashin-chan Dropkick!! Dash!!!!!!
Is it going to recede when it gets warmer in summer?
>many top directors and animators are in their 50s
Oh fug
It technically isn't as it isn't even from the same family of viruses to begin with. Also, the 'regular' flu (which causes a death rate in excess of 200,000 every year worldwide) also disproportionately affects the elderly and weak anyway - same as most infectious diseases.
Moron.
/thread
Imagine still believing this "virus" to be real
>Anime is doomed
Mangakas do not go outside so it is ok. Anime was shit for like the last 2 years already
It is in a way that its symptoms are a minor inconvenicne to anyone who isn't old or already having other health issues.
Natural selection, bro.
Mangachads win again
Who do you think makes manga?
Japan is different than the w*st
It has this under control because the Japanese mentality is all about respect and consideration for each other
Holy based
A very delicious nothingburger I dare say
People who already conduct a quarantined lifestyle by choice?
Those manga artists work from home.
It's one of the most densely populated places in the world. On top of that Japan tries its hardest to not appear bad, so they're also slow to take measurements. Expect a huge surge of new cases in the next few weeks until Tokyo realizes that wide-ranged testing might actually be a good idea.
If this affects our weekly manga updates I'm throwing down.
>its symptoms are a minor inconvenicne to anyone
Just like your existence
Nah the anime studiis will continue to work their animators until they literally die from not being able to breathe, we ok
Stop panicking. I would go on Reddit if I wanted that.
Wear a mask when you go out. Keep your distance. Wash your hands. Don't touch your face. Don't be fat, old, or a smoker.
>Don't touch your face
I love this meme advice
Mangakas don't go outside so future material is safe. 2020 anime has been shit so far, same with 2019 and 2018 anime.
Remember to take your vitamin D3
Tokyo is much cleaner than your rat-infested shithole tho
That's true of everyone.
>Wear a mask when you go out
Stop shilling the mask industry. They literally won't protect you, all they do is cause more panic and social distance.
same bro, I want out of here and badly
Die city vermin
Tokyo is pretty much KILL but Abe still refuses to lockdown the city
Wrong, especially if everyone is forced to wear one. If I wasnt on mobile I'd link several studies
dont fucking lump me as that shit. I hate when this place hates NYC all for the wrong people
Why are you phoneposting? Stay at home!
Is the choice of a manga that has frequently gone on hiatus because of its author's health issues intentional?
Manga artists do usually have assistants working in the same room and have the editor come over frequently. Also, the manga does need to be published and publishing houses tend to have big, open offices.
>Tokyo is turning into NYC
lol
NY is about to pass italy on its own with 1/7th of the population
Most of them live in Tokyo, and most of them also work with assistants.
This shouldn't affect them as much as entire animation production teams, but you're an idiot if you think is doesn't matter to mangaka just the same as anyone else who's job involves interacting with people.
>get rid of pensioners
I bet he's hoping for it
>going outside
>virus that primarily kills old people
>Japan like fucking 90% old people
Is there country going to collapse?
Is Abe going to take his shenanigans to the next level and make all anime have mandatory marriage + procreation scenes every episode?
I remember when they kept that cruise ship at the bay for weeks. Dumbest response ever.
All of this could be done remotely, this isn't the 1980s anymore. Stop scaremongering.
Not for me.
>Tokyo is turning into NYC
lol
NY is about to pass italy on its own with 1/7th of the population
Japan is going to be a disaster until they actually recognize there's an issue, then they'll be okay because japs all have a sense of duty and social responsibility whereas americans think every possible request of them is an infringement on their freedoms.
On the anime side of things, don't act like your backlog can't keep you going for at least 2 years of delays. You've probably already got all of it on your hard drive too.
Japan is going the herd immunity route.
>Nothingburger
I never understood where this term came from or why people use it. Surly there must be a better way to convey that message.
>barely hear a peep because of the Olympics.
>Olympics gets postponed.
>Suddenly popping up everywhere in Japan
Disgusting.
>americans think every possible request of them is an infringement on their freedoms
But thats the truth?? Corona is nothing but policy to rob us of our LIBERTIES
>Bofuri wins the AOTY title by default
Fucking based pandemic I say
JOHNSON'd
clearly you've never had the flu. Imagine your lungs and bones aching to the point that you want to kill yourself. Your throats dry as fuck and every cough and sneeze feels like your shoulders will break. Now imagine that being at least 3x worse if you're lucky enough. For some people, it will be minor symptoms. For others, and this doesn't just mean the old and young children, those people will wish for death to take them.
Social distancing would be a plus, you know. Also letting people take preventive supposedly measures puts them more at ease than cause panic. And yes, they won't protect you, but they may protect others if you have it. I've seen that sentence so many times these last few weeks, I have no idea how you didn't get the message yet.
>mask industry
You can make one yourself, dumbo.
>all they do is cause more panic and social distance.
>more social distance
That's a good thing if you have a pandemic sweeping the globe.
For digital artists, yes. In fact there are some who have their assistants working from home normally. But many manga artists still work on paper.
>most wuflu patients in american ICUs are overweight or obese
The weight policing in japan will pay off. The ones who arent old, anyway
Corona is a hoax.
NY is probably the testing capital of the world right now. I'm not saying it's not going to get worse than Italy, but Italy stopped mass testing a long time ago at this point.
The numbers being reported from different regions aren't really comparable. Deaths is probably a more fair comparison because it's more concrete, but even that is being reported differently in each region. You really think Somalia only has 7 cases? Notice how if you sort the list of countries by infection count they get progressively less shitty the more infections they have.
We're going to need to wait until meta studies are done on general death rates in every country that year compared to the norm to have even a remotely accurate number.
Payed actors.
Yeah, pic related already happen, I expect more manga series will follow suit later.
Why haven't we invented fully reusable facemasks/ppes yet in 20 fucking 20? They could've slowed this chink virus down by a considerable amount if it weren't for the shortage of supplies because of their one-time only use.
NY probably wont experience an end until give or take in a few weeks
Do you know what its from?
But then our hospitals aren't over capacity, you can see empty ambulances everywhere, and buy toilet paper and masks.
Here in Japan we are used to the use of masks and have always been practicing social distancing. See how nobody hugs even between relatives, in dramas or movies? How everyone stay away from others all the time?
We also have a drug that works against the first symptoms of Corona. We get infected. Then heal. No morgue neither cremation site overflowing.
We got over two atomic bombs, countless earthquakes and tsunamis. Corona is nothing.
Wow you sound like a total pussy.
It's true that covid isn't harmless though - even for healthy young people there is a chance for a more serious course, albeit not deadly. The worst thing that could happen to you then is to catch something else while the virus is raging in your body.
Btw, 'healthy' also excludes overweight neckbeards. Sorry Yas Forums, you're at risk
It already exists, washable cloth masks with gaze filters have always existed. People are stupid.
It can't be helped.
over my dead fucking body they ever do that
It isn't to protect yourself, but to protect others.
>anime was never good
wtf
It'll create a gap in the market that you can exploit (OP).
there are masks with replaceable filters
But if things like lifestraws exist and last a long time at 10$ for each, a reusable mask that can withstand multiple sterilizations should be possible by this point you'd assume
Why haven't we invented fully reusable facemasks/ppes yet in 20 fucking 20?
We have - that's what washable cotton masks are for. Murrica just doesn't get the concept of reducing waste.
>implying calarts survives the corona virus
Italy is doing like 40k tests a day right now, it's not just a matter of tests, it is that bad in the US.
Italy was already incredibly foolish for not taking it seriously when it was breaking out in china, but americans are twice as retarded for still not taking it seriously when they saw it spreading in italy. It's going to get much worse, they are still far behind on the curve.
actually, the banning of wet markets in China and overall improvement in hygiene would have made a world of difference. It's super dirty as fuck over there and anyone telling you otherwise lives an incredibly insular life. Knowing how the CCP operates though, we'll probably see no change and might even have another pandemic within 5-10 years. If we really want to prevent this shit from happening again, the Chinese government and Chinese culture towards hygiene has to change.
really makes you hmmm
"Medical authorities in China have said a drug used in Japan to treat new strains of influenza appeared to be effective in coronavirus patients, Japanese media said on Wednesday.
Zhang Xinmin, an official at China’s science and technology ministry, said favipiravir, developed by a subsidiary of Fujifilm, had produced encouraging outcomes in clinical trials in Wuhan and Shenzhen involving 340 patients.
“It has a high degree of safety and is clearly effective in treatment,” Zhang told reporters on Tuesday.
Patients who were given the medicine in Shenzhen turned negative for the virus after a median of four days after becoming positive, compared with a median of 11 days for those who were not treated with the drug, public broadcaster NHK said.
In addition, X-rays confirmed improvements in lung condition in about 91% of the patients who were treated with favipiravir, compared to 62% or those without the drug."
As I said, we heal.
Wet markets will never be banned in China.
Man, the number of people who think the flu is the cold they get every year is so stupid. Probably the same people who thinks every headache they get is a migraine.
This. Street vendors in China wipe the plate for the next customer with a dirty rag instead of washing it. No way it's over.
I think I might be able to profit off of this. I was supposed to move to Japan in a few months but I'm considering to swoop in after the damage has been dealt. Thoughts?
2020 has the best nose
Doubt you have any one of those right now
I don't need them, I have normal masks.
